Garner Lewis started drawing at the age of 10. Her father recognized her natural ability to draw and always encouraged her to create. She is a self-taught artists and originally from Columbus, Ohio. Garner uses a variety of media in creating her work. She is mostly known for her mixed media collage creations. Her art is primarily made of the paper that she makes found objects, acrylic paint and fabrics. She is also known for her hand crafted one-of-a-kind art plates and African masks. When creating her masks, Garner uses authentic mud cloths from parts of Africa.
