Purchase 25 sheets for sub-floor project and now wish I had read the reviews first (as I normally do, except in this case). 6 sheets were out of square, some by 1.125 inches, others would have made floor joists as there was a definite crown in the center of the sheet(s) of not less than 3/8 of an inch. As far as the tongue and groove are concerned, tear out and chip out from the tongue process was horrible with the groove not centered to accept what was left of the tongue. Those sheets that could be used could not be driven together any closer than 5/16" of an inch due to the "ratty' tongue being left with a 1/16" shoulder that prohibited closure. My only fix to remove the tongue and rout another groove and then use a hardwood spline. I chose this option over re-loading 1500 pounds of plywood and returning to HD. In over 10 years of using Home Depot this is the only product I have purchased that did not meet my level of expectations.

I bought these at a rather high price (but the only ones available since no one else carried them) to use as sub-floor for vinyl tiles because there was particle board previously in the house I bought. I installed these in the kitchen, but they didn't line up well at all, even though I started with a flat chalk-line, the tongue-and-groove was supposed to help it lie flat (no such luck) and at least two of the panels did NOT have knots cut and replaced with footballs. Also, those two didn't have any wood putty or similar in the holes on the face (good side w/o ink) as they should have, so I had to do it and wait for it to dry. I had to work even harder than with the particle board to sand down the VERY high spots. It was not evenly sized all around, nor was it easily sanded either as it should have been. Worst purchase at home depot ever for me; I should have gotten the OSB then covered it in hard board instead.

This sheeting may be more than OSB products but the quality and finished product is worth the extra $$. I have used this product in every home I have built and when you glue and screw this product properly hardwood floors and carpet overlays are level and will never squeak! This product also can resist water and not deteriorate like other engineered sheeting’s. Trust me you want your builder to use this product for all subfloor surfaces.
