Customer Questions & Answers

Is a lifetime warranty

Asked by: Peru
This Rigid tool has a lifetime manufacturers warranty against defects in material and workmanship. It is worth noting that to the best of my knowledge the use of a cheater bar with this tool will invalidate the warranty. I do believe Rigid requires the tool be sent in for Inspection prior to warranty service. In day to day use I have found this wrench to be plenty adequate for nearly all tasks, though when I anticipate needing a cheater or some other leverage I grab my iron wrench.

How much does it weigh ?

Asked by: paul
MY 24" Rigid Pipe Wrench weighs just a hair over 6 lbs, ( I believe the weight as published by Rigid is 5.8 lbs) by way of comparison my 18" Rigid Pipe Wrench made of ductile Iron weighs in at about 6 1/2 lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have always bought the best tools avaliable for our work. RIGID fits the "bill" We have always used RIGID pipe wrenches in our line of work (heavy truck/trailer alignments & suspension). Rigid has never let us down. We refuse to buy inferior off shore tools. Our last RIGID 36" aluminum pipe wrench lasted 8 years of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad experience with warranty I had used the 31100 818 Aluminum Straight Pipe Wrench 18 450 2 1/2 65 3 3/4 1.7 wrench for years without issue. I had an extremely tight fitting and more than a bit frustration when I cracked the aluminum just below the adjustment nut. I contacted my dealer they said there weren't sure if it would be covered as they had never seen one break that didn;'t have cheater bar marks on it. I got a refection no idea why as it was hands only and had always been, I guess it was fatigue over time. I don't have an image as I never got it back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from less weight to carry and work with all day great tool for the professional or the do it yourselfer with half the weight of steel pipe wrenches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Industry Standard For a Reason Been using these along with the 18” version for 5 years installing fire sprinkler pipe. My first set was handed down to me, but I recently decided to buy a new set (18” & 24”) and hand the previous set down to a co-worker. They do the job, and can take a beating. If you’re pulling on fittings with a threading machine, or using a “cheater bar" obviously you’re going to want the heavy duty steel versions but if you’re up on ladders and lifts all day, aluminum is the only option.
