It would be better if the plastic were a little more ridged.

It is not perfect, but looks better than nothing. It is not quite as big around as the old plastic rod, so it is not seated into place as well as the original. The best part is you don't have to remove the ceramic arms that are mounted to the wall. Other than that it looks is about the same and works well for hanging up a towel.

It is not as big around as the old plastic rod, so it is not seated into place as well as the original, but it works just fine. I also cut mine (using a hacksaw) a bit longer than the instructions said in order to have a tighter fit. In addition, I purchased an aluminum c-channel bar (3/8 x 3/8 - also at Home Depot), and cut that to length and inserted it into the plastic bar. Fits inside perfectly and this should give it better reinforcement.

It is a nice replacement, very easy to install, but cannot hold anything too heavy

Two of the towel bars in our bathrooms broke around the same time. I purchased two of these replacement bars and they worked great. I did notice that they are not as sturdy as the ones we replaced (the old ones were made of thicker plastic), but they have held up well over the last month. The nice thing to know is if they break again (which is entirely possible with two teenage boys in the house) I can get an inexpensive replacement that is super easy to install!
