Customer Questions & Answers

How hard is this to cut and what do you cut it with?

Asked by: donprior
Being plastic, it is pretty easy to cut. I have used a box cutter and a single edge razor blade. In a pinch, a sharp knife also works.

Can it be used for a backing panel on a bookcase?
Asked by: plc
Yes, it could be used for that. Just realize that it isn't as sturdy as plywood and that it doesn't have a completely smooth surface due to the corrugated construction.

Can I use this on top of my kitchen table, rather than a table cloth?

Asked by: Angi
Twinwall was not designed for this application, but may work for a period of time. We would recommend acrylic sheet for this application.

It is easy to cut, bend (along the spines), and to glue. I used Gorilla Glue and taped until it dried. I made a couple of drawers for a cabinet. Obviously, it is also perfect for outdoor projects and signs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best,Easiest, most versatile material to work with! I used this as a base for my kitchen backsplash, it is durable, easy to customize and beautiful. I won't be seeing mold anytime soon...and underneath the beautiful, classy, clean looking "stainless steel" contact paper sheet, who would think it's a corrugated plastic sheet? It is easy to clean, cut, install/ glue. It is pliable yet strong. Durable yet forgiving. It looks great for a minute fraction of what it would have cost me if I used conventional old fashioned material! I love this product, would recommend it to anyone. Get creative, and the results will positively surprise you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not your typical hardware supply use. I bought this on-line for store pick up. Let me start by saying that worked really well and I will use that service again in the future if the opportunity presents itself. Now what I'm using this for. This product is much like "plastic cardboard". It is approximately the same thickness and consistency. That is where the similarity ends. I bought this as the backing for a home made gun target. I have shot the first sheet repeatedly with both .22lr and 9mm handgun ammo. There are hundreds of enty holes on the front. What is truly amazing is the exit holes. They are as small, or even smaller than the entry points. There is absolutely no tearing or shredding and the use of personal defense ammunition had no extra effect. This was easily stapled to two wood firing strips I used as supports. I don't know how long these will last, but I'm already very impressed and they show no signs of collapsing. If they can stand this kind of abuse I believe they will easily work for other "less vigorous" activities.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Many Uses. Practical, Durable, Easy to Cut, Lightweight I've purchased 15-20 of the 36" x 24" sheets to sit against the glass of 1st 3' of my 18' high floor-to-ceiling loft condo windows to reduce that passive solar radiation (since they're white, they reflect a significant amount sunlight back out the windows. They also provide privacy. They're ideal because they're rigid and hold their shape and are impervious to window condensation -- I tried other materials and nothing worked anything like as well as these. When you compare the $8.61 price tag per sheet with free corrugated cardboard they seem expensive - but these are not brown and they're impervious to water which makes the price worth it for me. For some reason that escapes me, every sheet I've purchased (in 5 different Home Depot locations spread over 2-3 years) has been beyond dirty -- really filthy enough to want to clean before putting in the car but cleaning them requires hosing them down with strong detergent and scrubbing. I've no idea why they come so dirty -- maybe the way they're transported ... but watch out for you clothes and hands - it's black sticky film that is hard to dispose of.
