I need to replace a side window on my hutch but can't seem to find the dimensions I need at a reasonable price. Is there a clear material sturdy like glass that I can use instead? Is it possible to custom order the size I need from The Home Depot?

Answer:
You can make your own custom size out of polycarbonate (plexiglass) sheeting, sold at your local Home Depot store or here online.
They are easy to cut and alter to the size needed. I'd recommend using Lexan by GE, it's tougher, thicker, and is non-yellow versus the other polycarbonates we sell.
I highly recommend using Lexan; I've used them on various projects and they look just like glass.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not so good Must be Italian because it is really FRAGILE. After cutting to correct size the glass broke in half. Don't waste your time. Glass co will supply and cut glass for a few bucks more. Not a good product. July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by For Picture Frame I bought this for a picture frame. I broke the glass during a move. The replacement looks good. March 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not 0.125" (1/8"), but 3/32" Bought from store and found thickness is 3/32" not as advertized online as 0.125" (4/32" or 1/8"), 3/32" is only recommended for picture frames, not for windows. HD online put the glass panel in "Doors and Windows" department, that's misleading. I hope HD carry thicker glass panels, not the only cheapest. December 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy. Great price, but we needed to get it cut slightly smaller to fit in our picture frame. When the person tried to cut it a day after purchase, it was so full of tiny cracks that the glass shattered. July 8, 2014
