The width of this door is 24 in. Or less

Asked by: Martin
The doors are already 1/4 of inch less each, which gives you 1/2 total for movement, fits perfectly on a standard 24" finished door opening.

Though others might say no, I have trimmed these doors down, though doing so leaves less wood on the top (or bottom) for support. To remedy this issue, what I have done is I trimmed down a 2x4 and used it to replace the piece of wood inside of the door, giving it the proper support, and I use brad nails on the sides of the door to secure the piece of wood (so nothing sticks out). I hope this helps!

The bottom door pivot mounts into a piece of cardboard which with normal use, breaks within months. The Masonite 36 in x 80 in door should really be sold for about $5.

Having built 2 houses myself from the ground up I am very familiar with installing doors. The last house I built had 7 closets which used double bi-fold doors. I used this type of door except at the time the molded fiberboard face was attached to a wooden frame. These doors use a fiberboard frame. In the 17 years I lived in that house those doors never failed. These doors have been a problem since I installed them four months ago. The overhead track is so thin it flexes with ordinary use and the adjustment hinge will not stay where you tighten it. This morning the lower hinge pin pushed through the fiberboard frame and is now rattling around the inside of the door. I expect this will happen to the other three doors sooner or later. If I could rate these doors as less than one star I would. These should be labeled as "Temporary" because that's is what they will be.

I had been looking for a solution to my small bathroom door and came across this door. I bought the 24x80 6 panel pre-painted. I just installed it, so easy! I followed the video from masonite on youtube it seriously very not complicated at all, 1 person can handle it. My door opening (finished) is 24 by 80 1/4 and this door fit like a glove. I'm so SO happy!

Especially bad at the edges. Would NOT recommend them for houses with children as they would be trashed in no time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality The top and bottom are cardboard not wood. This is where the pivots are mounted. With basic handling during installation the lower pivot collapsed into the door. I managed to rig a 1/4 inch thick piece of SOLID WOOD to give it support. Be wary of this door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from bi-fold doors we have set of these on our daughter's closet when we remodeled their bedroom and the girls are 6 and 7 yrs old. the doors have been up for 2 yrs and no problems and look very nice. reason i gave it 4 stars was that because they were a real hassle to get installed and hung properly. my husband always uses longer screws when installing doors because the ones that came with the doors were to short. I will be getting another set for my utility room pantry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a fan The door it's self is a nice, sturdy door. However, the track is a pain to install. Once the screws are in ,the track still wiggles even if they are in tight. Also, the pegs that go into the track will not stay and the adjustment on the bottom won't stay at the height I set it at, it just sinks in. I ended up using the old track I had from a different door which worked a little better, but still having trouble with the pegs staying in and set at the right height. I recommend the door, but not the equpiment it comes with!
