What can be done about the 3 plastic drawers in this refrigerator?

In ALL the refrigerators I've ever owned, never have I ever had a harder time opening or closing ALL 3 of these cheap plastic drawers! I almost don't want to put anything in there just because I dread going in them! Is it because it's plastic ON plastic? Can the tracks be sprayed with something? Can anything on the market be bought and installed to make this easier? I'm 67 yrs old, just bought this fridge less then a week ago and already hate/dread going in these drawers! Surely something must be able to be done!? Please help me! Even the "shelves" on top of drawers don't stay in place. Afraid every time I go in drawer, the pulling and tugging it takes, perhaps misalign the shelf? What can I do?

Answer:
My father-in-law recommended to rub wax paper on the tracks. We pull the drawer out, and rub down the tracks with wax paper. We do this whenever our drawers start squeaking, and it fixes the problem for awhile. Re-wax as needed!! I hope this helps!!

Both plastic on plastic and metal on metal friction issues can be easily remedied by applying strips of Velcro (only the fuzzy portion) along the full length of the glide surface. Apply to the surface that is actually part of the refrigerator (not on the drawer). Velcro kits can be purchased in roles. Home Depot does sell this in rolls. Make sure the surface is perfectly clean, and dry. For best adhesion, it is important that you allow the fridge door to remain open a while so the surface looses some of the cold. You can also use a blow dryer to warm up an area before application. Happy fuzzing (+-+) Read Less

I couldn't agree more. The drawers are not functional, screech when we pull them out, and seem flimsy at best. It is plastic on plastic. I can't believe that a higher end refrigerator would have been engineered with this design flaw. Maybe there is a drawer slide piece that is missing or didn't get installed in the factory. for some frigidaire models it is stated in the manual that the water from the dispenser is not cold. For this model I checked the manual and it does not mention anything about the temperature pf the water but it seems that the manual is shared by different models so I have no way to know if the water for this specific model is chilled.

Answer:
Yes, the water is chilled and I drink about 4-5 glasses a day from my refrig. I do notice that it is not AS chilled in the first 1/3 of the glass, but gets much cooler as you fill up a 10-12 oz glass. You can make it even colder by adding ice cubes of course, but it seems cold enough as it is in the hot state of Florida.

I have read several reviews about flimsy shelves, particularly the door shelves. Can I place a large tall wine bottle on the last shelf? Or, is this too much weight? How much weight can the in-door shelves support?

Hi Potentialbuyer,
Thank you for your submission. In researching the model FGHS2631PF, we were able to identify the weight would be determined on the items that would be used. For example the two larger bins are gallon bins and a gallon of milk is about 128 ounces, which is anywhere between 8-12 pounds. Thank you for allowing us to assist you with your inquiry.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy I'm not one to review things but I would like to let people know that you may not want to buy this fridge. We've had it two months and it freezes things in the fridge ( I've had to throw out quite a few eggs) I've tried different shelves. also it freezes my milk so I quit putting it all the way back on top shelf now I've had to throw away 2 gallons so far because I guess it's not cold enough towards the front of the shelf. The ice gets stuck sometimes so u have to open door to stop it. I've never had to deal with this kind of stuff with my other refrigerators. I guess we stuck with it I hope it will last a while. And it is noisy! We jumped to fast when we bought this because our frige went out the night before so we needed a new one asap, we didn't do our homework! I don't recommend this frige. September 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Would not recommend We were disappointed in the quality of this model. The drawers screeched very loudly, the water/ice maker made very loud noises when running and the ice dispenser was constantly getting plugged up with ice. July 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Refrigerator review I said no I wouldn't recommend because I have only had the refrigerator for a little over a week. The frig does make loud noises when the water kicks in to make ice. Also, the ice maker is very loud. I bought this frig bc it has two crisper drawers, which I love. I will make additions to my review once I have had it for a few more weeks. July 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rusting door Have this same model but after only a few months the freezer door is rusting under the writer and ice dispenser . They don't replace them so I'm never buying frigidaire again . June 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Away Not worth the headache. It looks nice, but that's it. The drawers stick and make a screeching noise when opening. Even after adjusting the door heights, they do not match. June 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No customer support We had our refrigerator (Gallery) for about 3 years and the water dispenser stopped working. The repairman indicated that we would need an entirely new door for the fix, cost about $500. When we called Frigidaire they said we should have bought the extended warranty and did not stand behind their product. For the price we paid (>$2,000) this should last more than 3 years without needing a major fix. I am going going to buy a Frigidaire product again -- our gallery dishwasher needed repair last year (new board) and also just went out again. April 14, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never worked right and Frigidaire won't fix, replace, or refund Received ours in October 2014. Started malfunctioning on April 2015. Fridge side won't cool. Stays between 50 and 60 degrees. Had 7 service men out to see it. They don't know how to fix it. Frigidaire won't replace or refund. Dealing with Frigidaire (Electrolux) is a waste of time. Don't buy. September 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stainless Refrig BUT... I bought this Gallery Stainless refrig about 4 years ago and it looks as good as the day I bought it. Uses a Puresource 3 water filter which is excellent and last about 6 months in my home. However after 2 years the icemaker quit and I have not been able to fix it myself and I am not paying the repair guy $300 for replacing the parts. So you will definitely want to buy the extended warranty on this unit. Also the ice maker was pretty noisy and I would have to turn it off at night or it will wake you up cranking out new ice. Now I use ice trays. The rest of the refrigerator has been great, good freezer capacity, lots of room in the doors and lower shelves for things like turkeys or bags of fruit. You'll appreciate this stainless finish on the whole kitchen line as it really is maintenance free. I would even recommend the Gallery Professional line if you can afford the next level up in these appliances. April 6, 2016
