Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 135 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Southern CA We bought 5 of these 2 years ago for a graduation party (to anchor 118" tilt umbrellas from a "swedish retailer"). We use 2 freestanding umbrellas for the dining table instead of one central umbrella for better shading. The other 3 shade lounging areas. These bases are still going strong. They are: Light weight enough to easily move around the patio as the sun moves. Heavy enough to use the tilt feature on the umbrella and it will stay upright. Fade resistant, so far they look like new. I agree with those who say a breeze will knock them over, but for SoCal these are perfect weight for the vast majority of the days you'd want to sit outside. This was a great purchase at a great price for our purposes. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good umbrella base. I missed the part that said "Not for use on free standing umbrella's". I should have read the product specifications more carefully. Overall the product will do as its designed and it looks good. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EASY AND SUFFICIENT I am amused that this product is billed as "assembly required." All you have to do is screw the threaded bolt on the tube into the threaded hole in the base. You can do it by hand. It takes all of five seconds. At 26 pounds it should be heavy enough for most situations. It handles different sizes of umbrellas. Just use the plastic insert that gives the snuggest fit with the umbrella pole. I had no trouble having the umbrella stand at a 90-degree angle. Also, it fit perfectly underneath the umbrella guides under the table. At 30 dollars you cannot go wrong. You could go with a 60-pound base and pay around 100 dollars, but why would you want to do that? All you want is to have your umbrella not blow over in a strong wind. May 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Free-standing umbrella will still tip with this stand if breezy It's a decent stand, but I suggest only using if you are using it with a table in order to add stability. It did not hold up my open, free-standing, 9ft vented umbrella if there was even a slight breeze. Also, the stem keeps loosening from the base, so in one day I had to tighten the stem back into the base three times. I need to move my umbrella around on the deck, so adding sand bags or additional weight won't work. If an umbrella was used with a table, this stand would work fine. May 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed These ratings must be rigged. 127 glowing reviews for a plain umbrella stand? I bought 3 and returning them today. The slightest breeze blows them over. Disappointed. May 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Base, Great Price When first purchased, it was noted that in a breeze the umbrella tended to lean. My idea, and it has worked for 3 seasons now, was to take 2-3' lengths of rebar, bend over 3" on one end and drive the rebar into the ground using the bent end as a "clip" to hold rhe stand down. It works great, having never had our unbrella fall over.... Even at the Oregon Coast! May 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not for windy areas If you live anywhere windy, or if there are high wind events, this stand won't work that well. the holder will come loose, check it once in awhile to tighten. unven surfaces make it more unstable. would be good for an appartment patio, somewhere protected. The bases made from concrete are the best but they went from 20$ to almost 90$ the 55lb concrete bases won't go anywhere. these bases are good for lightweight weather conditions. April 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beast stand Was exactly what I was looking for. Extremely heavy and screws in tight! I would recommend this to anyone May 12, 2016
