Product Overview

The 3/4 in. SharkBite Push-to-Connect Elbow allows you to make a 90° connection to any combination of 3/4 in. Copper, CPVC or PEX Pipe. SharkBite fittings are the easiest way to join pipe and do not require soldering, clamps, unions, glue or tools to complete the job. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces. SharkBite Fittings are certified for potable water supply and hydronic heating applications. Get SharkBite and get a grip on your next plumbing project.

I have one of these fittings going from my hot water heater. It goes from a copper pipe to a gray pvc. It's leaking from the pvc pipe. When I bend the pipe to make a more accurate 90° turn the spray stops. Can I just reseat the pipe or do I need to replace it? And if I do need to replace it , how do I take the elbow off???

Answer:
I would try reseting the pipe first. You can easily take the elbow off using a disconnect clip. They are cheap.

Cut off a bit of the PVC and push it back into the elbow (to make it 90 degrees). While your at it, flip the elbow to see if the leak persists from the same side. If so it is likely the elbow that is bad.

When on our site use the search term "sharkbite disconnect clip" to find the fitting right for you. I hope this helps.

The OD of 3/4 inch copper is 0.875 and OD of 3/4 inch Pex is 0.75. Is this fitting the one I should use to connect them?

Answer:
Hi Justanod,
Yes, this fitting will connect copper and PEX. PEX, Copper, and CPVC are all Copper Tube Size. 3/4" PEX has an ID of .75 and an OD of .875.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick Elbow Product felt of high quality in my hand. It slid on easily to the copper and pex pipe. I had to turn two corners and the pieces still rotated allowing me to easily place the assembly in position. October 16, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product These are great fittings for the DIY person that likes to fix his own plumbing or water lines without the hassle. Had to replace my TPR valve on the water heater and decided to use these along with Pex tubing for the relief drain from the TPR. Took all of 15 minutes to install TPR valve with Sharkbite fittings and Pex tubing. Tested and not a single drop a water leaked. December 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by push-to-connect versus soder connections The Connector was east to use, however the support infromation and accessories were not easy to find on the web page June 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Plumbing made simple Attempted to solder copper pipes together for a newly purchased water softener, after the pipes were fully installed they leaked in multiple spots. Now we have leaky pipes and the water is shut off to the house. AHHHH!!! Sharkbite came to our rescue. They snapped together in a matter of moments. No more leaks, no hassle, works perfectly, looks great, what else could you ask for? They are a little pricey, but attempting to solder and having to start over isn't cheap either. These were just put in, so I cannot attest to the longevity, but very happy with the results at this time. June 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. Great product! Easy to use and no leaks the first try with no welding. Just cut the pipe and de-bur and slide the pipe into the joint. Very easy plumbing job even for an amature plumber like me. March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick and easy great product Used 2 of these 3/4 elbows to replace leaking copper elbow joints. Very easy to install cut the copper pipe used Sharkbite tool to debur copper pipe and pushed on Sharkbite elbow and ran PEX to water heater. Much easier than soldering and can install fittings on wet pipe. Have used these fittings for many jobs and have never had a leak. Great product! May 18, 2014
