The valve's heavy-duty construction with self-cleaning function also features a manual on/off bypass lever that allows for testing and flushing of the sprinkler lines.

  • Universal use with residential 24-Volt sprinkler systems
  • Manual on/off bypass lever for the testing and flushing of sprinkler lines
  • Heavy-duty construction with a self-cleaning function

Customer Questions & Answers

Will performance be affected if the valve is oriented so that the flow direction is vertical instead of horizontal?

Asked by: Al
Al, thank you for the question. Valve performance does not change whether the valve is installed horizontally or vertically.

I want to be able to replace parts without removing the valve.

I set this valve up for a small sprinkler system in my garden and used Sharkbite fittings onto PEX for a quick installation. I was cheap and didn't need a fancy expensive sprinkler controller so I operate the valve with an Arduino and ethernet shield and made a simple web page to control it. 12VDC is all it takes at ~400mA to operate both the valve and arduino board in case anyone is wondering. The full 24VAC isn't needed if you are into projects. Just be sure to use an NPN transistor as the arduino board cannot source the amperage needed to open the valve..Everything works great..

I recently purchased a house that has Orbit products installed for all the watering systems. The system was working great until recently. I went out and noticed that one of my sprinkler units was on even though the system was if the "Off" position. I checked the controller and found that it was also in the "Off" position. Could this be a faulty controller not closing all the way? I also, noticed that the area where the controller sits was flooded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great I bought 2 of these valves a year or so ago. 1 to use and 1 for back up, and the 1 is still running strong. I don't know how they work for sprinklers, but on my air cannon....A+.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product I personally installed a 5 station in ground sprinkler system with four sprinkler heads per station using all Orbit components including 5 of these valves in 2010. There have been zero problems with these valves or any of the Orbit components. A little over a year past I added 2 more stations using Orbit components including these valves. I have had zero problems with my system. I am surprised at the negative reviews of this product. I am very mechanically inclined with a degree in Applied Science in Industrial Engineering and do a lot of Plumbing, Electrical and general construction projects. I have personally found that Orbit components, including these valves, are of good quality, long service and work as designed if properly installed and maintained. I highly recommend Orbit products as quality, cost effective and good value.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sprinkler valve I bought this valve to add to my existing manifold and after installation I turned the water on and the valve appeared to be open. I did my customary checks, is manual open: no, wires were not even connected at this point. I then took the top of the valve off looking for damage or debris in the diaphragm and going nothing. I tried the water and again it came out as if it was on. Yes, I did verify the directional arrows as well. After 3 attempts at taking it apart and checking with no results, I went to HD and bought another. I took the guts out and put them in the existing valve body and the problem went away. I have no idea exactly what the issue was but I did spend a whole day trying to find out. This was the first time I went with this brand. I usually use a commercial brand. I do hope it lasts because if the entire valve ever has to come out it is a lot of work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A sturdy, easy to install valve This is the first time I've used orbit products. I have often used similar products by competitors. From what I've experienced, this valve can stand up to and exceed quality and pricing. Definitely a winner.
