Answer:
Hello, the valve should not leak at the threads if connected to the correct mating thread, if the mating thread on the pipe does not match that of our tapered Female Pipe Thread it may cause a leak. Using plumbers tape would even help the leaking situation.

I just installed a new shutoff valve (fpt x fpt) on my irrigation system and it leaks on both sides of the threads a few weeks later. I used plumbers tape on the threads. I know it's under constant pressure from the street but why is it leaking? Can you tighten it TOO MUCH? Did I install it wrong? Can't find the answer and need help.

Answer:
Hello, the most likely issue causing the leak is that the threads on the valve and the threads on the pipe are not matching. When the valve is connected to the correct mating thread there should be no leaks. However if you believe there is an issue with your valve we do offer a warranty on these and would be happy to send you a replacement, call us at (877)319-3757. Thank You.

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good product for the temperatures in Las Vegas Nv. I bought and installed this valve for the supply line for my pool. The location that it is in gets all the afternoon sun, it only lasted 4 months before it started to leak from the shut off T handle. there is no way to tighten up packing to stop the leak. This is my second valve within one year, must be whatever material is used to build it can not withstand different temp changes that Las Vegas has. Fool me once it;s on me but after the second go around I bought a brass shut off valve. So I would not recommend this plastic valve. September 3, 2016
