Not easy to push the spline into the tracks with the Screentight tool, so be careful you don't come out of the track and end up ripping the screen. Also, the installation of the screws that hold the track to the frame requires being pretty careful not to overtighten, or the track won't "catch" when you drive it on over the screw heads. I used a 4" section of track to check each screw for the proper tightness. Slide the end of the short section under the screw head. It shouldn't be so loose that it rattles, but it shouldn't be hard to slide either. When driving the track on, make sure the point of the track that you are going to hit with the rubber mallet is centered over the screw head you are trying to fasten to, and center the blow of the rubber mallet over the screw. It usually only takes a single hit to get each screwhead to capture.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BVCH Nice idea, but almost impossible to install
I bought enough of this product to do a single opening on a screened porch project. The installation of the aluminum track with the "clips" (special screws) was pretty easy and straightforward. However, things got very difficult when it came to trying to install screen material once the track was in place.
A tremendous amount of force is required to push the spline into the track *with screen* - this is hard enough if you are doing it on a flat surface and able to push straight down with all you body weight. Trying to do it on a vertical surface (sometimes from a ladder) was impossible for me... it took me about 20 minutes of exhausting effort to get about 1" of spline in.
I was using the "square" spline the manufacturer recommends, as well as their spline tool.
Luckily, HD has a great return policy.

I have hired out my services and feel more qualified than most DYI's but this product did not live up to the install video. Bad design, hard to install, almost impossible to keep from damaging the track when rubber mallet is used to pound down track over screw heads that must be screwed in perfectly without any margin for error. Track will not uninstall and re-install without damage to track.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stitcher Perfect for an elevated installation
I had a handyman install this on 8 sides of an elevated gazebo, screens on top and bottom halves of openings. So I can't comment on installation but this was perfect for my 15 foot high elevated install because it can all be done from the interior and not struggling with big screening placement on a ladder. I can put in new screens if anything is damaged, without a ladder. It looks fantastic too.

This product was used to replace 200 square feet of screen on a screened porch at our mountain cabin. There is a slight learning curve when you begin installation. Follow the instructions in the Home Depot video closely and you will have no problems. I found that it was helpful to use a piece of 1" x 2" scrap lumber that was about 12" long placed along the mini track to tap it into place...it kept the channel from being dented by the rubber mallet and the spline channel from being bent. You will need to purchase the screw clips separately. I wish I had known about this product when the porch was originally installed!
