Answer:
Hello jtag51,
Yes. The tee will mount onto you cold water shutoff valve. The top port is connected to the faucet water line while the 1/4" side port is connected to the icemaker supply line. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed. After our Post-Sandy rehab I needed to replace the feed for our refrigerator water/ice maker. This was exactly what I needed. May 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 1/4" Compression Does NOT Seal I have tried to use this to tap off the cold water kitchen sink and run a line to my refrigerator. It installs great, but it leaks! I have tried two separate of these fittings and two separate compression fittings to to PE line to go the the refrigerator. Both times these 1/4" connections have leaked. I will return all of the pieces and am on my way to go get real ones a plumbing supply house. February 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great - easy to install and no leaks Bought this to install a water line for the fridge. It went in fine (I also used teflon tape) and hasn't leaked. February 26, 2015
