Can I plant in planter?
Asked by: steven
Yes this plant can be grown in a planter, make sure to select a large planter where the plant will be able to develop roots. After several years you will probably need to move it to a larger container or into the landscape

Is the Blue Point Juniper also known as a "Common Juniper"? I would like to eventually harvest the berry for consumption and some junipers are toxic. The Common Juniper berry is edible.

Has anyone tried shaping this juniper by pruning?
Asked by: Ducky
You can trim and shape your juniper(do not trim during times of freezing temperatures). Ideally you would trim after the last frost in spring.

Customer Reviews

3 Gal. Blue Point Juniper is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have faith in these I bought several of these and planted each one in one of those wooden so-called half whiskey barrels sold at Home Depot. I used Miracle Grow potting soil & Miracle Grow garden soil about 1/2 each. I had to search out several Home Depots in my city of Albuquerque NM in order to find healthy ones. We had a very hot summer with little to no rain so it wasn't the best growing situation. I watered them weekly 4 gallons once a week. 6 of them are doing well, a couple of them didn't make it. We don't have extremely cold winters here, but since I planted them above ground, I plan to wrap the whiskey barrel planters with blankets & remove them in mid to late April. These have proved heartier than other evergreens for my middle-New Mexico climate. I plan to plant more in containers.
