Answer:
Yes, I just finished doing just that. Instead of putting the lag screws one inch from the back of the post, you put them one inch from the front. Also had to drill an additional hole for the the cable. Works just fine. Take your time and plan it out.

Yes. The frame uses a type of hinge that swings either way, and you can attach the fence pickets on either side. Should work, no problem.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 76 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great steel frame This product is as described. Very sturdy easy installation I also like the fact that the frame has its own hinges and they are hidden from outside view so you get a a clean look. June 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Putting gate together was simple. Was going to make 5 ft gate, but was worried that there was not enough stability so went with 4 1/2 width. Wanted to make a inside swinging gate, but making a latch on a six foot gate would be difficult with hardware provided. Decided on a outward swinging gate, but still went with a different latch to open. Saw on line at competitor they sell a black powder coated, could only find grey here. Painted black, but scratched easy, so had to touch up a lot. Hardware screws on cheap side, but overall made installing and building fairly easy to do. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Gate!! This is a wonderful product!! It was relatively easy to assemble with minimal tools. It looks perfect and includes the hardware. My wife helped me to hold several of the pieces in place while I measured, but I could have done it solo, it just would have taken a little bit more time. It has a solid feel and is well made. I looked over many other products, including the pre-built gates before deciding on this kit. My only suggestion is that the instructions could have been more detailed. I strongly suggest watching the video prior to assembly as I learned several points that are not included in the written instructions. My carpentry skills are very basic and yet the total assembly time from start to finish, including the pickets was only a few hours. I strongly recommend this gate kit. March 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Took me about 2 hours to install. I will help my neighbor to install one next week. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good gate kit Well-designed gate, in kit form. Very good quality overall. Gate's adjustability solves problem of odd spacing of gate posts. Instructions well-written and diagrammed. Easy to assemble. Excellent value. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Strong I bought this model of gate hardware because I wanted a gate that would last a long time without sagging. The only way this gate will sag is if the post the hinges are attached to, decides to sag. This gate was easy to install (I did it by myself and I am a 55 year old woman). The metal seems to be fairly thick and any welded parts of the frame seem to be strong. I had bought two of the larger frames to fit into a double wide opening. I had to affix one of those long slide bolts you put on one side (slides down into a pipe set in the cement to hold the door in place) so the two gates won't try to open when shut. This required me drilling holes into the frame and I had no problem with this. I was also able to affix the latch onto the top of the frames by drilling holes into the metal. All went well. The two gates hang level with each other. I put the fence boards onto it and people don't even realize there is a gate there, until I point it out. I have now purchased the smaller frame for a single gate that I will be putting in. Truly a non complicated do it yourself project. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase Arrived earlier than expected. A great product that is working just as I had hoped. Will be purchasing a second one for our other gate... August 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a great product. Easy to install and would recommend to anyone who is installing a large gate. July 20, 2016
