NDS 3 in. ABS Backwater Valve protects low areas or basements from the backflow of waste from a street sewer. The quick-action flapper allows an unrestricted, unidirectional flow, and the flapper's elastomeric gasket ensures a watertight seal. Designed for use in the installation of non-pressurized drainage and sewer piping systems.

  • Hub outlets are suitable for use with DWV pipe. May be adapted to sewer and drain pipe with NDS DWV to Sewer drain adapters

how are you going to install the in a existing sewer line when the inlet and outlet are at different heights???

Answer: 
The is a difference of approximately 1/2" between the 2 sides of the backwater valve. The reason for the difference is to ensure that water continues to flow in the correct direction, even in cases where the pipe is installed with very little slope. If installed on an existing line you may need to excavate additional pipe so that you are able to adjust the pipe as needed.
