Customer Questions & Answers

What is the efficiency of the unit?

Asked by: Rich
This is a Williams 3003622 wall furnace and the AFUE rating is 66%, which is pretty low efficiency. However, if you're only using it in the garage when you're working in there it may not matter.

Can I install this furnace in the state of Massachusettes?

Does it comply with Massachusettes regulations?
Asked by: slickster
You need a mass approval product number to see if it's been approved my guess is that it has not since we're moving away from standing pilot

What does elevation have to do with it?

The description says the unit is good up to 4500' elevation. Is this because of expected temperatures above that elevation or does it have to do with the amount of oxygen in the air? I live at 5600' in SE Arizona. Is there a different model that would work better here?
Asked by: Stoderlele
The manufacturer says that you merely have to change the burner orifice size to work properly. El Bujo 2

30,000 BTU/Hr Direct-Vent Furnace Natural Gas Heater with Wall or Cabinet-Mounted Thermostat is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 131.

Furnace shipped was model 3003822 which is apparently an updated version of the model 3003622 advertised. That was okay but the conversion kit number 221783 to modify it from natural gas to propane was for the advertised model and would not work for the furnace shipped. I procured the correct kit from another source since Home depot does not carry the correct kit. I returned the incorrect kit without problem. The furnace is now installed and works perfectly. A very easy installation after the trauma of the wrong conversion kit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from installed it myself I gave this a three star (average) rating because it basically is an average wall heater. I've installed wall heaters before and they're all about the same. Measure and cut the hole, put in the heater and vent, attach the gas. The unit looks nice and it fired up on the very first try! Had a nice blue flame coming from the burner. It comes with a thermostat that I put on the wall beside it and that worked fine as well. I installed the unit in August so I don't really know how well it will heat, but I expect it will do just fine.

Bought it, had it installed, made it through the warranty period then the igniter and other parts failed. SEVEN MONTHS to get the right parts and get it repaired and working again at a cost of $530! Would have been better off throwing it out and replacing it with a new one rather than paying for electric heat and then the repairs. I also have different models from same brand and had igniter problems but repairs were much cheaper and faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Heater, Excellent Value I bought this heater to heat my back porch. The area I needed to heat is about 15X10, no heat run and many drafts. The heater does an excellent job of heating the area. The packaging was not the best but I escaped with no damaged parts. Installation was a little challenging but that is probably because I am not a heating and cooling person. All in all I would recommend this heater to anyone who wants to heat a good sized space that a space heater just will not keep up with. I added a programmable thermostat to knock the heat down at night and during the day when we are not around. The price is fair for what this heater is capable of...
