Is there a gap between the fire pit ring and the blocks?

In the product photo, the concrete blocks appear to be right next to the fire pit ring. But, in the customer review photos, it appears there is a gap. If there is a gap, am I supposed to fill it with something?

Yes, about 3-4 inches which is suggested you fill with stone. The sell stone in bags at Home Depot for a few bucks each. You may need 3 or more

Yes, there is a gap. Maybe 1-1/2" wide around the perimeter of the ring. We filled it with pea gravel. I may top it off with cut fireplace glass to add a decorative shimmer ...

Answer:
Good day, there is a gap, fill it with rock, pebbles or something of the sort to keep the heat from the blocks when burning a fire. You can also view the video of the complete install here using this link or call me at 888-379-2210. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JWN4dIOu_I

30 is inside. You're right it is confusing because some are measured outside

Answer:
The inside diameter is 30" (this is the ring and the 1/2" space between the ring and the bricks, pea gravel area). The bricks themselves are 6 1/2", so the outside diameter (total occupied area) is 43"
Hope this helps

Answer:
Not sure! With mine, I placed the ring on the ground and poured the concrete around the ring; so everything inside the ring (pea gravel) actually sits on the ground, and everything out side of the ring (fire pit stone) sits on the patio.
Hope this helps

Answer:
This can be placed on any level area. If you are placing on concrete and using it as a wood burning fire pit, I recommend you cut a hole in the concrete so the ash can go into the ground. If you dont, it will eventually seep out from the bottom causing your patio to get black stains on the concrete. Need further understanding? Dont hesitate to phone me direct at 888-379-2210

30 in. Fossill Limestone Fire Pit Kit is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product. Enjoyed many fires so far Finished product looks great. Very good, value if you catch it on sale. If you're assembling on gravel it takes some work to get a nice level base but after that it's easy. I had it delivered to the store to save shipping and loaded all of the parts into my SUV. Note that the top pieces should be placed directly on top of the top row of bricks, not spaced in between. I noticed many pics on the internet where the top section was installed wrong. Buy at least two tubes of the best concrete glue you can find and don't use it sparingly. The finished product is really solid

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice fire pit It looks very nice and was easy to put together. My only complaint is they should number the bricks so you don't have to spend the time figuring out which block goes where. After much trial and error, we determined there was a top and bottom to each brick....the widest side goes to the bottom. This allows more coverage of the exposed unfinished edges. Likewise some blocks were wider than others so you had to move the blocks around in order to get all the unfinished edges covered as much as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my new fire pit!! Assembled and put together by a girl!! Husbands back was acting up, so I did it all!!! Had to work at getting the pieces to line up so rough concrete edges were not showing. Top cap is little more narrow than I expected but overall beautiful piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and a great value. Unlike some of the testimonials, I received this pallet and checked all the faux stones for breaks and cracks. All were exactly as advertised. Before installation, I brushed off the concrete debris and used a can of flat "Ochre" color paint and lightly accentuated the other colors on the rock. After installing as per instructions, I filled the seams using one tube of concrete grout filler from Home Depot to seal all the cracks and it gave a really nice, finished look. I used a combination of sand and decorative river gravel to fill the ring to the bottom of the top shelf stones. My wife and I enjoyed a glass of wine and our new outdoor fire pit for the first time last weekend. We could not be happier with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking fire-pit! I love the fire-pit. It takes a little effort and skill to assemble and level, but its worth it. This size (30" inside diameter) is good because it complies with most local ordinaces. The larger 66" model is too big for my town's regulations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking fire pit! Looked around quite a while for a nice affordable fire pit and settled on this one because it looked really good for the cost! Shipped quickly and am very pleased with the purchase. Took about 3 hours to build the pad but assembled the fire pit in less than an hour with my wife's help! Used it 5 min later! We love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Install Just about as easy as everyone says. Prepare the area before your fire pit arrives. If you do that then the installation time will be no big deal. You do need to shuffle the blocks around to get them to fit nicely but once set it's just peel back a block, apply construction adhesive and reset the block. We were burning a fire minutes after setting it up. It's been about a 5 weeks since we set it up and after about 15 fires there are no issues whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good The pit holds together well. I've used it just a couple times but have really enjoyed it. Everyone who has seen it is really impressed at how good it looks. You'll have to buy a few bags of gravel and some concrete adhesive in addition to this kit, but that doesn't come out to be much extra. The concrete blocks are a bit heavy, so if you're not super strong, find someone who is.
