Customer Questions & Answers

is a 300 watt light safe for indoor lighting?

Asked by: Anonymous
I just bought this and I'm using it in my torchiere floor lamp. My lamps says to use 300w max. The packaging on these bulbs are different then the one shown. The one shown says "Bright White on the packaging. It's not mentioned in the front of the new packaging. Could be they simply changed the packaging. Anyways, in this webpage the Product Overview says it Light appearance is 2900K and is a "Soft White"; however, in the Specification:Details section it's shown as a Color Temperature of "Bright White", but the Actual Color Temperature is listed as 2900K too. Typically, 2700K is Soft White and 3000K is Bright White. In any case, it's a warm yellow light like an incandescent light bulb. Just in case you want to distinguish it from a "Daylight White" which is typically 5000K and up. Oh, the dimension (listed as height) is wrong in the Specification. This bulb is 4 11/16" long.

Bought 2 300watt halogen bulbs for my lights in the backyard just yesterday but can't get them to work. These lamps had 500watt bulbs before so does

mean that this wall lamp will not work with 300watt bulbs?
Asked by: Anonymous
Have you got the right voltage. Some come in 130 volts and others in 240 volt. if its American it would probably be the former whilst the latter would be British Asian or European. Otherwise it could be that the tube is slightly too small and not making a good contact. Generally 300 watts and 500 watts tubes are interchangeable

Can it be used for pool & spa light (underwater fixture)?

Can it be used for pool & spa light (underwater fixture)?
Asked by: Wonder
I hate to say yes or no to this question. I would suggest you find out what wattage your pool lamp is rated for. 300 watt seems a bit bright as far as I remember pool lights going. Last time I looked at a poo light they were a sealed unit too. I would say that if your pool light is designed to use this type light tube and if it is rated for this wattage bulb, sure. I use mine to light up my two car driveway and a middle yard. And although mine are weather proof fixtures, I would open one of them up underwater to install one of those tube. The whole housing would be full of water when you flipped the switch back on.

I purchased these light bulbs based on what the stick inside the lamp recommended. The first bulb broke while installing it into the lamp. Then the second also broke during installation. Very frustrating. Now I'm concerned that buying more bulbs will simply be a waste of money I guess it's time to trash a perfectly good lamp and replace.
