There were no instructions as to whether to place the door retractor with the button on top or bottom . I close to place on the bottom so my wife can push with her foot to open and hold door. That feature works like a champ. The jam side strike install was a bit interesting. The screws provided were closer to machine screws than self tapping screws although they did have a small cut at the end to cut into the aluminum. I ended up drilling and tapping the holes which worked like a charm. Your mileage my vary. All in all very pleased with the results.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Schatzie977 Great door but the lock doesn't fit
My new full view door looks beautiful and my little shih tzu-poodle is thrilled to be able to see all the goings on in the neighborhood. HOWEVER, the lock core that was sent can't be installed because the screw hole in the core doesn't like up with the screw hole in the side of the door.
The call to Andersen customer service to get a replacement core was painful. After explaining the problem and requesting a new core, I endured 45 minutes of Q and A with someone who knew NOTHING about doors or locks. Repeated conferrals with the elusive "door expert", which I'm guessing was a manual, led to repeated statements of the core problem. The final outcome was they are sending me a replacement lock core and I spent 45 minutes on the phone that I'll never get back.
Door is beautiful and I recommend the product because I've purchased and installed Andersen doors before. I hope you can avoid calling customer service as it is not.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by shawn Screen is terribly designed.
Anderson doesn't use normal screen spline like everyone else. Can't even purchase through homedepot. I wanted to put in a stonger pet screen in but that is impossible because Anderson want you to by the spline through them. I didn't by the spline through them but it will not work with the pet screen. not very well designed by Anderson.

This door is excellent. Solid and heavy. We face (and frequently endure) the north winds. No longer will we have to worry about having the winds pulling and flinging the door! As to the installation, my carpenter husband installed and had no problems. Am hopeful that this door will hold up to the wind and rain for many years to come.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sirius great deal
to start with I have to replace my storm door every three to four years, due to my location. I have tried another leading brand, it lasted one year. the Andersen doors are well built, sturdy and look great. this is my first 4000 series dual pane insulating. installing this door was easy, I have done it many times, but I watched the video and it made following the written directions easy. I got this door at a great internet price with hardware included. this door is by far the best product for my application , facing four miles of wide open wind on the mouth of Merrimack river.

On line item was shipped to my mother house in greenville,nc and came in damaged. Installed by our installer and the bottom was damaged but he threw the box away. The door was installed a month after it was received. So we are left with a damaged door with the glass keep falling out. It is a beautiful door and I will recommend it to others.
My question to you to have a representative to come out because I need another door.

I am thoroughly happy with this Andersen dual-pane storm door. The quality is exceptional as it the fit and trim. I had installed one on my son's home and experienced what a great product should be like. So when I was ready to replace mine, there was no other choice but the dual-pane Andersen door

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jj Good door, just not manufactured correctly
The door handle would not lock the glass in the door frame. It worked fine with the screen. It took an extreme amount of pressure to hold the glass in place and at which point the handle was too stiff to function
