I want to know how far off of the floor the BOTTOM of the pan is ,not how deep it is. I have an older model of this, and the bottom cracked because there was such a large gap from the floor to the pan it self.

Hi Bluzking,
Thank you for your question about the 38 in. Single Threshold Neo-Angle Shower Base. This is a newly designed unit with a mold injected base, meaning the bottom of the unit is built up with supports that are touching the floor. If you have further questions about this new base feel free to call us at 800-355-2721 or email us at customercare@mascobath.com.
Thanks,
Nick

How did you make out with replacing the floor of the shower? I have the exact same problem and was wondering how big the job was to replace it. Did you have to take up tile? I'm happy to hear they make them with supports underneath now - duh.....:)

Answer:
You'll need the glass door, but the correct notches for a door to fit aren't on this. The only real is as a replacement for a cracked from a kit, and only if you sawzall the notches off the old one and glue them on with liquid nails.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poor design After installing this shower 5 yrs ago I found a leak that ran down the wall in my basement for quite some time . It had been leaking with out my knowledge and had drained into my subsurface drain of the house footer system . I'm a contractor who has installed the five foot replacement basin for bathtubs. The neo angle shower has a separate no- caulk drain which is the culprit of my leakage. After some time the gasket that is provided wears out within five years. On the five foot shower basin the no caulk drain is molded into the floor basin as one piece which allows there to be only one possible leak point which is the rubber boot that installs around the 2 inch drain pipe. Poor design which should have been changed years ago. May 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Support Design The unit was easy to install but even though the floor underneath was level there were two spots on the floor that gave slightly when taking a shower. After a year and a half those two spot cracked rendering the unit useless. Now the tiling around the surround had to be ripped up to remove the surround to allow replacement of the base. I truly regret purchasing this shower base. The floor support is not good quality to only last 1 year and a half. April 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Met expectations It arrived on time as they said and it is a good buy. Looking forward it to have it for many years from now. March 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works. Unfortunately this unit doesn't have the notches for the door and wall set that matches. The old base's front, glued on with liquid nails solved that but that seems a bit annoying. This is much stronger on the floor part that the original which is why it gets a 4. Also, shipping took 3 weeks. June 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This product is great. For an expensive floor pan this product is all you need. No need to spend more money on a higher priced ones. I had it installed with the American Standard Prestige Neo Angle Shower Door (Model # AMOPQF1.400.213) and they fit together nicely and look great together. December 26, 2011
