Hello, Can I remove the doors and add a shower rod instead? I'm sick of trying to get the mold out of the crevices of the doors and also what size rod would I need?

Answer:
You should reach out to the manufacture. Also if you are seeing mold i would suggest that you keep the door open and also have a proper exhaust fan.

I would not Alter any part of the shower. A rod would not provide structural strength to the walls.

Answer:
Although it is designed for the included prefab walls, I think wall tile is possible. I almost went that route but decided to use the included wall kit to save time. Attention will have to be given to sealing the tile walls to the enclosure as well as the base. Good luck!

38 in. x 38 in. x 78 in. Shower Kit in White is rated 2.2 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware of beauty only on the out side We purchased this beautiful looking shower for a spare bathroom. Looks can be deceiving!!! This looks great , but man does it leak from spots you would never see. We found it out when the tile started popping from the floor. Could not figure out why??? Moisture seeped under the tile. The walls are thin and brittle . The base is cracked and has hair line marks just waiting their turn to let go. I have a shower upstairs that gets used everyday and has been here for 25 years No Marks No Cracks . This is approxmitely 3 years old and is used 3 times a week at the most. This was professionally installed and I watched the whole installation. I was so excited.Completely level and caulked. This unit gets rusty around the rim and ,All I can say is I am so dissapointed. Don't judge a book by its cover. I will see how reputable The manufacturer is tomorrow. Delta makes this shower surround.Delta is an excellent brand in faucets, I'll let you know what happens with them (Delta) tomorrow I want my money back so I can purchase a quality product. I hope I can find one . A good price is only good if the product has integrity. This one does not.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Need to replace I bought this six years ago. We had some leaking issues at first but were able to address them with some caulking. There is a hairline crack at the shower pan now and we've tried to fix it but with no luck. Now we have to completely remove and reinstall and fix whatever damage the water has done to the floor and walls. This is very dissapointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth installing. We were happy with the appearance of this shower but within about 4 years c... Not worth installing. We were happy with the appearance of this shower but within about 4 years cracks developed in the floor area around the drain. We caulked these which helped to control the leaking but the cracking continued to grow and now there are many cracks throughout the shower floor and water leaks into our basement with every shower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible horrible horrible My husband and I replaced our tub/shower with this corner shower to save space. First, I didn't notice until the shower was already installed, but one of the door's plastic windows was not connected to the frame. We have been having an issue with leaking since we bought this dang thing so when I found this I thought it was the source. I was somewhat excited (yay, a broken door!) I caulked the door with clear sealant, shower still leaks. We have re-caulked this shower over 4 times in two years. Its come to the point where we need to waterproof our bathroom with plastic molding that's caulked and water absorbent snakes everywhere. Just noticed last night that the base caulk on the shower head wall is cracked. Looks like I'm going to have a fun weekend. I've had such an issue with this shower it makes me want to burn my own house down! Also, the doors are loud, I can hear it across the house. Wish I would have bought a $1000 shower, since that's probably what we have spent in caulk and other supplies on top of the initial cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No. Definitely Not. If giving zero stars was an option that would be my choice. First thing we realized is that the measurements are not accurate. You think you are getting a 38 x 38 when in reality it's more like 36'x 36'. Too small. That was just the begining of our disappointment. This shower was very difficult to install because the instructions were very confusing. My husband has been a contractor for 35 years and can usually do stuff like this in his sleep. I've never seen him so frustrated. We decided not to use the cheap plastic walls and opted for tile, the look was good but then we started showering and within a week or two the leaking started. The problem is obvious, just keep reading the rest of these reviews and it becomes pretty clear. We are going to have to replace the shower which means a whole lot more than just buying another shower, it's going to be a costly fix and we are not happy. Quite frankly we are both perplexed as to why Home Depot hasn't stopped selling this cheap piece of garbage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from base of unit when installing any tub or shower base I always use a bag of structolite mixed and poured on plastic place over floor under them, and caulk with a mildew resistant siliconized caulking from inside the unit, then use a mildew resistant acyrilic/latex caulking on the outside of unit.units are now made a bit more durable, than earlier models. I would recommend and use again,it is a compact good value unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from a huge piece of junk, leaks everywhere from plastic glass front. The doors aren't the same radius as the base and must be bent out slightly to conform to base. The front panel lets water in the track that holds it & let's water out everywhere. I've drilled holes all over to let it drain & caulked stuff that I should not have to, to get the piece of junk to function without flooding the new bathroom I just finished. As for filling the voids in the wall with foam to give them some strength , I don't understand why they can't provide something like that. A buck for them ? I can't remember having so much trouble with a shower unit before , & I do this for a living. P.S. buy a glue in drain not their rubber cup system they supplied ,it will leak in the future, trust me.
