Going around pellets stove pipe is that OK to use

Asked by: Bub
I would suggest checking with your local building official, fire marshal. You don't need to identify yourself or the location where it is being used. Just bring in the can and ask if it is acceptable product for your application.

It has good fire proofing abilities based on the package, I did not have it tested. The only difficulty I had is that it spreads in a thick sticky paste, like taffy. It is a challenge to work with for finish work. I had no problem with it sealing rough work, where the finish coat won't be seen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expired Product I had the same issue as one of the reviewers, who was told it might be expired. I did some digging online, the code is: Example: 8183AS 8 = Last digit of year manufactured 183: = Julian Date AS: = Random to distinguish between lot numbers So, I was able to determine that my product, bought 3/25/15, expired on 6/4/14. It's going back tomorrow.
