Can I bond a rubber stair tread to wood stair with this?

I want to attach a rubber stair tread to my wood step. Is this the right product to use? Thanks
Asked by: JohnDoe55
I would not recommend this as my rope I glued to a tire came undone after 2 weeks. I followed the directions and used plenty of product. It sticks to your hands for days!

Will this bond foam to foam (motorcycle seat)?

Asked by: steve
Well, I tried locktite 300 to glue a couple of yoga mat layers on a wooden seat base and it did not work. When I tried this product it worked fine. After the mat was glued, I upholstered the seat with vinyl. So basically this product was used to hold together the wooden base and mats until i placed the vinyl cover. So 3M is much much much better than locktite!

Will this work on aluminium boat bench seats for applying carpet? Is there any special prep using this on painted aluminium?
Asked by: Haremai1
This adhesive will work for your application. The aluminum surface will need to be cleaned and dried and you can also scuff up the metal with sandpaper to give the metal some "teeth" for the adhesive to adhere stronger. Will this glue together rubber backed carpet to vinyl linoleum floor??

Asked by: HD
The label says "Rubber & Vinyl Spray Adhesive," so I would think it would be prefect for that. This is a contact adhesive and it grabs instantly so be certain that you have the materials positioned just the way you want them before they come together. I can imagine that might be difficult with a large carpet.

We needed elevator flooring that would take a beating in a busy auto parts shop and we needed little down time. Rubber garage flooring would do the trick, but it needed to be adhered to the floor. After calling the flooring manufacturer they recommended 3M Rubber & Vinyl 80 and said to try a hardware store. I used the store pickup option at HomeDepot.com and was able to get back and adhere the flooring the same day in just minutes. Fast and easy! Great product! I would recommend this product highly, and also the online store pickup!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Strong, Hi-Temp Rubber & Vinyl Spray While replacing a van headliner I ran out of Performance Hi-Temp Spray Adhesive. Ordering Performance brand by mail would take days and I wanted to finish the job. I always wanted to try the high temp 3M-80 and Home Depot carried it. In the end, the 3M Adhesive-80 is almost identical in every way, light wide web spray, super high strength and the only other spray adhesive that handles Florida sun. I've tried a number of different adhesives and so far, 3M 80 Hi-Temp and Performance Hi-Temp Trim Spray are the best, hands down. BTW, the key to replacing a headliner is cleaning off the old foam with a dry scrub brush. If it's not clean, no glue is going to save you.

I glued some foam rubber type of material to a metal back and it grabbed and has held securely. Just be sure to mask off any areas where you don't want glue, as it is a spray and it is hard to get good coverage on the work-piece without some over-spray. I do wish it was available in a smaller quantity, say in a can about half the size of this can, since once it has been used and set for a little while, the spray orifices get plugged, and whatever remains in the can becomes unusable.
