We use it for light sanding, cutting wood boards, and emptying out the ash from the wood stove. The metal clasp goes over the bridge of the nose and on the inside directly opposite there is a strip of foam to aid in keeping any additional dust out. The two elastic straps are fastened pretty securely. One strap broke away from the mask when during the winter we tried to pull it up and over are hats. The mask itself covers the face, leaving no gaps whatsoever. While it's not 100% effective it's an inexpensive alternative to the professional respirators.

had to work in the attic and had worked up there the day before with no mask and wound up coughing for an hour afterwards. With the use of this mask no cough so I'm satisfied and its priced right

We purchased this mask to protect was from the smell of repellent use in the yard. We can still smell the repellent through the mask. The fit is very good but it needed to be more protective

Worked perfectly. This item worked when glue strips did not. Effective the first use.

This is you basic filtration mask. Good value and effective for short duration wear and usage. Good items for a first aid or "bug out" kit. Good for quick jobs. For something needed for longer wear that provides a better facial seal and more comfortable breathing I would choose (of those products offered at Home Depot) something like the Sperian SAF-T-FIT Plus N1125 Molded Cup N95 Particulate Respirator with Boomerang Nose Seal and Valve, although they do cost considerably more.

Works for everything that you would need this type of mask for.

A N95 mask without a mesh support and without an exhalation valve is almost useless. In hot, humid conditions the mask saturates quickly and collapses. Without the valve, you cannot test for fit, so dust laden with mouse excrement can and does easily leak in around the mask. There are very few instances where this low quality product is useful.
