This is truly bad tape.
After building all of my Home Depot boxes and then packing and sealing them I returned the next day to find the tape had fallen off of them (see picture).
Of course I could not move without the boxes being taped so this created big problems.
Had to re tape everything which meant turning boxes upside down when possible or empting the contents.
Had the tape worked as expected none of this would be necessary.
I don't know what this tape is good for, but it certainly is not good for "MOVING AND STORAGEPACKAGING" as it is described. And it is most certainly not "LONG LASTING" as described.
I reviewed Scotch's site and they state that the adhesive on this tape is Acrylic, which is generally considered inferior to Hot Melt as used on most "PACKING" tape.
Avoid at all costs!
I would return it but I have none left to bring back to the store.

Tape pops off the boxes, does not stick! You have to use three times as much tape to get it to stay down, do not recommend this tape.

This tape barely sticks to the THD moving boxes forcing you to use more than necessary. Save your money and find another option.

Will not stick to boxes!
Had bottoms fall out of boxes due to tape coming loose. Very frustrating!
Buy Duck tape - found it works better.

How can Scotch even call this tape? How can HD sell it as tape? Tape is adhesive. This product is not. Don't waste your money.

I'm sorry but I do not like this tape! I'm moving out of state and have been packing for over a month now. I bought this tape but I hate it. It doesn't hold well and is constantly coming off. I make sure I press down firmly when putting it on and I even criss-cross for a better hold but I have to keep going over the boxes I've packed and pressing the tape back on. Bad batch? Not sure, but I'm not impressed at all and I'm going to buy tape somewhere else, and a different brand (if there is any).

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed Horrible - tape does not stick and comes undone almost immediately
I bought this to tape my boxes for moving. It did not stay stuck. I came back to the boxes later that day and it was no longer attached. The purpose of this tape is unknown to me. I bought a different brand called moving tape and it is great and stays stuck. Do not buy this if you want your boxes taped and to stay taped!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ROBERT IT'S THE HD BOXES, NOT THE TAPE, THAT THE "LONG LASTING" SCOTCH TAPE DOESN'T STICK TO.
THIS IS A REPORT ON THE WAY THIS TAPE WORKS ONLY WITH HOME DEPOT PACKING BOXES. WE DON'T KNOW WHETHER IT IS THE TAPE OR THE BOXES THAT CAUSE THE TAPE TO PEEL OFF SPONTANEOUSLY. WE WILL REPORT AGAIN.
I'VE BOUGHT THE SCOTCH PACKAGING TAPE FOR YEARS, INCLUDING FOR OUR LAST MOVE, IN 2007, AND IT IS STILL STICKING TO THE BOXES THAT WE BOUGHT FROM HOME DEPOT.
THE "LONG-LASTING" VARIETY IN THE 3-PACK THAT I BOUGHT AT HD HAS BEEN WORKING FINE FOR MAILING AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD PURPOSES. THIS HAS THE UPC CODE 0 51131 85348 5.
BUT WHEN WE STARTED TO PACK FOR OUR UPCOMING MOVE, I USED THE LAST ROLL OF THE 3-PACK TO CLOSE SEVERAL OF HOME DEPOT'S NEW BOXES, AND IT ISN'T STICKING. AND I THINK THINK IT IS THE FINISH ON THE BOX THAT IS REJECTING THE TAPE.
THE BOXES I AM REFERRING TO ARE BROWN WITH RED AND GREEN PRINTING AND THE HOME DEPOT (FOR THE SMALL SIZE) SKU 369 894 WITH UPC CODE 8 51414 00216 2 AND (FOR THE MEDIUM SIZE) SKU 370 826 AND UPC CODE 8 51414 00217 9. THEY ARE WELL-MADEBY PRATT INDUSTRIES OF HUMBOLDT, TN FROM 100% RECYCLED PAPER, BUT THEY HAVE A SATIN FINISH THAT MOST OTHER BOXES DO NOT HAVE.
WE ARE USING THE SAME TAPE ON SOME OTHER BOXES NOT FROM HD, AND ARE GOING TO TRY SOME OTHER BRAND OF TAPE OR A DIFFERENT SCOTCH VARIETY. WE WILL WRITE AGAIN LATER REPORTING THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS.
