I used this tape to mount plastic sheeting on the outside patio, so that washer/dryer were protected from the rain. This has been holding for months even with massive rain and strong wind.. I was so impressed that I bought more to put up Shade Fabric to block direct sun on the patio. This is the absolute best product ever.

The Extreme Mounting Tape I used to buy was spectacular. But now there's a new UPC/SKU, the packaging is different, the tape is now black instead of light grey and it sticks to nothing! Please bring back the good stuff! This is so disappointing.

When the tape that came with the hook failed, I used four 1/2 inch strips of this stuff and it has held it for over 3-weeks now, and counting. This is an awesome product.

the item was very expensive for what you got. It didn't hold up a coat hook hanger at all.

I agree with jimmelnh. I wasted alot of time and money with this useless stuff. Used it to put up small light blinds instead of screwing into walls, plastic frames and woodwork. I came home every day to my blinds on the floor. Used command strips I had from hooks cut to size just like jimmelnh suggested and not one fall since. In addition the command strips are much faster to apply, cleaner and thinner to boot. I want scotch to refund me and stop marketing this horrible product. It holds up nothing. Command should make mounting tape instead.

This tape claims to be "extreme duty" and hold 20 pounds, but it is absolutely worthless. I used this to put up a six foot long bracket that weighs 5 pounds with this tape running the entire length of it. I took the time to clean both surfaces with alcohol and I pressed hard on it for the full length of the bracket. It stayed on for about ten minutes before it started to pull away from the wall with nothing but the weight of the bracket. When I realized that it was junk I pulled it off both the wall and the bracket with no effort whatsoever. This doesn't work even a fraction as well as the regular double sided tape. I ended up using 3M Command strips and the bracket is still up there, holding a shelf with stuff on it after a month. I couldn't pull it off the wall if I wanted to.

What this tape does best is stick to its own backing - when you try to peel the backing the tape come off the workpiece instead. Not all that strong once you finally get the backing off, either. Definitely not worth the hassle, will buy something else next time.

If you use common sense and a little patience it is easy to peel away from film. This stuff is very strong.
