This electrical tape can be used for a lot more than electrical work. It stretches and forms around curves extremely well - most tape can't stretch like this, and will kink with far less bending - and it can hold in any weather.
I've used it to fix the wraps on bat handles, and the foam cushioning on a lawnmower handle that had become torn from getting too close to the side of my house & fence. Unlike the foam, it can take scraping up against the brick, and it won't come off.
I even used it to temporarily tape a rubber trim piece that was coming off the roof of my vehicle back on - it held through freeway driving and the ensuing rainstorms with my car parked outside - and the person at the body shop didn't even notice my fix until I pointed it out.
Frankly this is amazing stuff, and even if you have no electrical work that needs doing, you should get a roll of this. There are few products I can think of that I could recommend as highly as this tape.

There are are cheap "off shore" tapes available at a lower price, but I am suspect of the performance and quality. How much of your safety and home are you willing to risk on these questionable products. Scotch Super 88 is the only tape that I trust.

Yes I use electrical tape to wrap electrical cords or connections and it works great.
I also use it to label my plant cuttings. The tape is weather resistant and can be transfered from planter to planter. I love the different colors.

this tape will stand up to anything you can do to it. I have used this tape for all heavy duty taping jobs. I love the scotch brand.
