When fully opened, the Skinny Mini 4-Step Ladder is 24.25" wide at the back, 19.75" wide at the front, and 35.5" from front to back. I find the ladder to be very stable and the steps are deep enough for both of my size 7 feet.

The best way to answer this is to stand on the floor next to a door opening or wall and see where your finger tips come to. Measure that and then add 42 inches (3' 6"). I stood on the top step and my head came within 2" of touching a 9' 3" ceiling. I am about 5' 7" tall. Great stool/ ladder.

Answer:
The height of the top step is about 41.5" when the ladder is open. The working height would be approximately 41.5" plus the user's height, assuming you want to work on something at about head level. The total reach would depend on arm length and the reach of any tools to be used.

Standing height (top step) is 42". I am 5 ft, 6 inches tall, and I use this to clean my windows. While standing on the top step, I can reach the top of my windows, and I have 12-foot ceilings (my windows go almost to the ceiling). I can reach both INSIDE and OUTSIDE windows with this ladder. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best choice for household chores for high ceilings Light and easy to open/close. Stable. Useful tray with holes for tools. Folds to only 2" deep for storage. My quickie specs: Open 63.5" high; 36" front foot to rear; 24" left rear foot to right; steps 12" wide * 8" deep; tray ~ 10.5" * 10". Closed: 67" high; 24" wide; 2" deep. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tall,Sturdy, and Comfortable As other reviewers have stated, this Ladder is a very sturdy 4 step folding ladder. Good for jobs that require reaching out while working overhead. The deep steps, the top hand grip, the project Tray, along with the sturdiness of this tall ladder, makes it comfortable for this 70 year old, while working on ceiling high projects. It's a little heavy (about 20+lbs.) but worth it ,costing about half as much as other 4 step Folding Ladders. Don't let the MINI fool you. This is a great ladder, with free shipping to my nearest store. May 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Ladder I picked up my ladder from the store and when I got it home and unwrapped it the back lower brace was bent. It had to be from rough shipment. It had 3 front feet and only one back foot. My wife and I tried it out and loved it. The deep steps are the best thing. It's healthy on old feet and very stable. It is not aluminum. Even though it's skinny it weighs about 40 lbs. You feel like you are standing on something very stable. I hunted for a while too find a 4 step stool/ ladder. Home Depot had it on-line but they were out of them. I checked every day until they finally got them back. I ended up bringing the damaged and flawed one back and Home Depot reordered and shipped me another to my house. While waiting for the new one I wrote an email to Tricam Industries Customer Support about changing the design of the ladder so it has four feet like the back feet. If you were to use the ladder outside the small feet on the front would sink into the ground because most of the weight is on the front of the ladder. I suggested that all they would have to do is turn the back feet around where the part that extends outward would extend inward. They wouldn't have to change the design of the ladder just take a right back foot and turn it around and do the same with a left back foot. The ladder would still fold up properly. I asked if they would send me a right and left back foot for my improvement suggestion. I signed off with my name and address. Tricam replied to my email and told me they where shipping me 2 back feet. She said by installing them it would void any warranty or liability. Actually it makes the ladder safer. I received them in 2 days. My replacement ladder came in yesterday and I changed out the front feet. Now I love my ladder/stool even more. I am attaching some pics. March 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product at 1/2 the price of comps Got this excellent ladder from HD for less than $50 shipped free. This is less than ½ of cost of comparable products. Nice wide steps and the indispensable paint/tool tray. Don’t let the Skinny name deter you, plenty of width and stability for your home projects. Third step will get you above 8’ for ceiling work with that all important grab rail for safety. While the steel construction adds weight it provides excellent stability and is not difficult to move and store, but don’t keep out of doors as steel will rust over time. Thanks HD for this great value!! January 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product This ladder allows me to reach a 9 foot ceiling while standing on a large comfortable step. The tray holds a 1 gallon paint can and tools. It is easy to open and close and is very sturdy. Glad I bought this stool. October 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy, Bulky, Heavy It is a sturdy ladder. No doubt about that. When I climb to the top, I feel secure. That is why I purchased this. My old wooden ladder is wobbly and shorter. I always felt like I was going to fall. That said, its spread is quite wide, so I have trouble using it in my small kitchen space where I need it. It's heavy, so I don't automatically reach for it like I do for my old wooden just because it is easier to transport. I thought I could trash my old wooden once I got this, but I can't for that reason. I guess it has to be designed this way in order achieve the uber-secure feeling on top. It's a good product, but had I understood it took up this much real estate (when open) and weight, I would have opted out. Maybe it's better that I didn't know because it did help me do some emergency work which my old ladder could not have managed. Overall, it's a good ladder to have around. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safer than a regular ladder... Best Ladder Ever!! I had the 3 step ladder for years but always wanted to get up just a little bit higher. This ladder is great I just love it and at 60 I love the deep steps and the security of the rail higher than the ladder. The deck is perfect to hold the paint can and whatever else I need. My girls were always barrowing my last one because it's feels so safe, folds up flat and fits in the back of their SUV. I'm not telling them about this one. March 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely my best painting ladder This is an outstanding product. It is easy to open and fold. It is relatively light weight for how much weight it can handle. It is hard to find a four-step folding ladder like this one. I don't understand why Home Depot doesn't sell this ladder in the store. You can only get it online. The extra step makes a huge difference when painting or working on higher portions of a structure. I love this ladder and will order another one for my second home. March 25, 2015
