NDS 4 in. Polyethylene Hub x SPT Adaptor is used to connect 4 in. corrugated drain pipe to sewer and drain (S&D) or drain, waste and vent (DWV) pipe. Polyethylene construction is durable, lightweight, economical and resistant to corrosion and chemicals. Adapts corrugated pipe to sewer and drain pipe or DWV pipe.

Answer:
Depends on what you mean by sewer pipe. This adapter is used to connect corrugated pipe to sewer and drain pipe (SDR-35). Sewer pipe could also be DWV (drain, waste, vent) pipe which is the same size as schedule 40 pipe. This adapter will not connect to schedule 40 pipe.

The typical corrugated pipe connector is to jam the two pieces of pipe into the connector. Of course, this is a rather sloppy connection and in heavy downpours water gushes out of the connection. I use this connector when I join two pieces of pipe because it makes a better joint by funneling all of the water from one pipe inside the next one. I also try go make sure it is a positive downward joint when possible. I'm sure there may end up being some back-pressure when the flow is heavy which would cause some water to gush out, but this is certainly better than the usual joint.

Used it to reduce an existing drain pipe and it works excellent. Very sturdy. Buried underground, but no fears that it will continue to work for years to come.

Great for directing water in a non-obtrusive way. Use this instead of connecting a bunch of downspouts. Best if buried, but you can just leave it on top of the ground.
