Yes, the inlet is 1/2" female pipe thread. It will fit on a standard 1/2" riser.

Edwin, this is only a full-circle pattern sprinkler nozzle - you will need a half-pattern sprinkler to get what you seek.

How far apart do I need to space each sprinkler head since it says it has a 15 ft distance??

Q143653, you'll want to place your heads far enough apart so that the spray from one head touches the other sprinkler, and vice versa. The reason for this "head-to-head coverage" is that most sprinklers do not effectively water the grass immediately surrounding the sprinkler head itself, so the head next to it needs to be the one that keeps that grass watered, if that makes sense. Rated 1 out of 5 by from What Was Once Good is Now Garbage I bought these because of the brass head which should pretty much last a lifetime. The rest of the components are more or less comparable to the competition. Couldn't figure out why the angle of the cone of water of the last two I bought was different than the previous ones, or why they misted more. Went to adjust one and the screw just rotated. Pulled the head and it turns out that instead of a solid brass head they are now a brass shell with a plastic insert. There was more friction between the screw and the insert than the insert and shell, so the insert rotated. Orbit saved a few cents in manufacturing costs and lost me as a customer. Luckily there are other manufacturers whose heads will work. If you are going to go with Orbit, go with the plastic heads.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy Rainbird I bought four of these and before even being able to use them, two broke while testing them. The top screw-on ring failed on both. I'm going to replace the other two. I can't afford the risk of a geyser in the remote part of my yard where I installed these. Don't buy these!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its ok Every do it yourself person gets their own different experiance. Cheap inexspensive way to get the ball rolling and figuring out what your doing with GPM and PSI and how many heads to use and if you need a different head in the end. Espescially if you have no clue what your doing. The springs are solid construction. You need 25 psi at the head to extend it against the retract spring. They must raise completely to complete the seal or you have a major psi loss. (38 PSI with 4.5 GPM) In chicago, typical city water PSI and GPM and splitting off the 1/2 inch pipe that runs to my hose spicket- i could only get 1 to work. ripped out the springs and got 2 to work correctly. 3 was a fail still. It trickled out. A whole lot of guess and check later it turned out i had a low GPM and the amount of PSI loss per sprinkler head was expotentially lower because of it. I instead split off the 1 inch pipe that went to my Radiator/Boiler because if im running the heat - its not the time of year i need to be watering. The 1 inch pipe to the wall and the reducing coupling to the 1/2 inch for the flexi pipe doubled my GPM. i was able to maintain 4 heads at 26 PSI for a shoot distance of 10 feet at each head (at 38 static psi with 8GPM). I unfortunatly designed everything on getting the full 15ft this head can do. You are not getting the full 15ft without 35-40 PSI at the head.. I am going to have to redesign and use different heads that can get further distance with less psi and more GPM (impacts). I can now run 2 heads and maintain a 35 PSI. I should be able to cover my yard with 2 impacts at that psi. I ordered the impacts. They havnt arrived yet. If you dont know what your doing, most of this will make more sense to you later when you jump into this hands on. If you are designing for use with this head make sure you can get almost 8GPM at 38 Static PSI to maintain 4 heads and the heads will hit a 9-10ft radius. Do not design for the full 15ft unless your prepared to do a bunch of rediculous things to fix all the PSI and GPM problems you didnt plan for. Hopes this helps. I had no clue on anything until i decided to jump in hands on and google everything.
