Answer:
Joe, these particular nozzles yield a water flow rate that will vary depending on a couple of different factors: spray pattern arc (full-circle, half-circle, etc.) and water pressure. Please contact our Support team at 1-800-488-6156, so we can speak with you and give you the specific answers that would fit the conditions of your yard. Thanks!

I purchased several Orbit 4" pop-up sprinkler hard top adjustable pattern heads that adjust up to 15 ft. at Home Depot. How do I adjust the pattern? I don't want to get all wet doing it.

Answer:
To keep from getting wet, close the nozzle. This can be done by turning the nozzle clockwise until it stops. This should be done with the water turned off. Now with the water turned on, slowly turn the nozzle counter clockwise until you get the desired pattern. If you want a complete circle 360 degrees, turn the nozzle counter clockwise all the way until it reaches the stop, before you turn the water on. Read More

MountainLawnGuy, the adjustments come by simply twisting various parts of the head. First, locate the black "dot" on the top of the nozzle. Next, set the left edge of your spray pattern by twisting the entire stem (not just the nozzle), until the black dot is pointing to the left edge you seek. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DON'T BUY!!! Absolute junk! Broke within 3 minutes and leaks profusely! Seeing metal hardtop and high price I figured this would be a good quality product. I couldn't have been more wrong!! It broke withing 3 minutes of installing it. I figured maybe that was just a dud so I took the backup I bought and installed it and that one leaked profusely. Don't waste your time with this garbage like I did. I will never buy an Orbit product again! September 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leaks, Darn near Worthless I bought this to replace a 10+ year old Rain Bird head that my in-laws accidentally backed over and cracked. I thought with the metal head it would be more durable. The truth is, I don't have any idea how durable it is since it only lasted about 5 minutes in the ground before I pulled it out. It leaks, plain and simple, around both the seal and the base of the spray head. So, if you're trying to water the 3" diameter around the base of your head, this will work perfectly. If you're trying to water the 8-15' "range" of this head, don't bother. I'll be returning this and purchasing another, cheaper, Rain Bird that doesn't leak. Period. July 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am very happy with this purchase. These sprinklers were easy to install and adjust, we are very please with this product. September 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JUNK The seal around the center stem fits so poorly the stem wobbles back and forth. You don't need an engineering degree to figure out these are going to leak and do they ever! Take one apart and look at it if you don't believe me. After seeing these it will be my last orbit purchase. September 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leaks too much to use Put seven on a station. Leaks were so bad sprinklers would not pop up. Replaced with seven similar Rainbirds, which work fine. July 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leak like crazy causing pressure loss like everyone else says, these leak like crazy around the pop-up head. If you have enough of these leakers on one zone, it will just kill your line pressure. Ironically I was setting these at 180 degrees to replace 360 degree heads May 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Virtually indestructible After replacing many, many sprinkler heads that had been destroyed by the lawnmower, I discovered these ones with a metal cap. They are virtually indestructible, and work just great. I like the hard top so much that I wish I could buy just this part and go around replacing the caps on all my other sprinkler heads. I've installed about twenty of these, and had no problems whatsoever. I suspect that the people who are complaining about leaking heads have tried to install too many sprinkler heads on one circuit. When this happens, there's not enough water pressure to lift up the pop-up shafts, and you end up with a puddle around the sprinkler head. October 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Needed to replace a broken sprinkler head and didn't want to pay the markup with the local irrigation company. I was skeptical at first, but this easily replaced the broken Hunter sprinkler head. Turned on the system and all works good. May 7, 2015
