Customer Questions & Answers

Do you know where I can get a 1 inch female sewage sprinkler pop up head

Asked by: tallgrass
Toro’s Universal Impact Sprinkler-45 is often used for septic aeration. The standard version does not come with a purple cap, but the likelihood of someone drinking from a septic pond is extremely low. This product comes with a ¾” inlet (it also necks down to ½” for versatile applications). We are not aware of a 1” retail version available in the market in the U.S. You can use a reducer to bring your 1” supply down to ¾” and you will find that the product works very well in a dense-particulate environment.

Customer Reviews

40 sq. ft. Universal Impact Sprinkler is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trouble from the start I am one of those “write the review only if it’s bad” people, so here’s the deal: I purchased 36 of the Toro Universal Impact Sprinkler-40 units as part of a large irrigation project this June. After lots of planning, trenching, and backaches I fired the system up to awe at the beauty of hassle-free watering. To my surprise and chagrin, I have not been able to enjoy the fruits of my labor, as every day I have had to fiddle with a head or two. One will get stuck on return, while another (a 360 degree uninterrupted cycle) will inexplicably stick. All told I will be replacing 5 of the 36 Toro heads I installed (probably with Rainbirds or Orbits) in an effort to achieve my goal. The bottom line is that a 15% failure rate is totally unacceptable and I DO NOT recommend using the Toro heads for anyone wanting a truly enjoyable sprinkler system experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from stuck on return I installed two of these Toro impact sprinklers last June in my yard. Both of them are now getting stuck on the return flow. I will probably replace both with Rainbird or K-rain models. It is unfortunate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be ready to replace or return I purchased 12 of these heads, mostly because they cost so much less then the rain bird brand. Over the past two years I have had to replace every one or have had to set them to a full circle pattern because they will not operate and return properly. They are not very reliable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Reliability Best comment..Don't expect better than 85% with this type of sprinkler..I have used this type for 10 years with lake water and have found the rainbirds perform the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely reliable and well-priced As an irrigation system contractor, I need products that work from the get-go. I have had a great overall experience with these sprinkler heads! I have tried heads from Orbit, Toro, and Rain Bird, and these are by far my favorite. These have a MUCH lower rate of failure in my experience than Orbit. Each Orbit head I installed failed, and I no longer use them. As mentioned, these have about a 15 percent failure rate--that's the best you can get with Chinese manufacturing, which is the reality of essentially all sprinkler heads today. This year, unless specifically requested otherwise, I will be installing solely this head in each system!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable These Toro sprinklers have a rapid return rate, and therefore cover the area with more water in less time. They are the always dependable Toro quality. Shipping was very prompt!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sprinkler Head at a Good Price Got this to replace a Walla Walla MP roto-head sprinkler that just wasn't allowing water to get in close to the sprinkler head's location. Impact action of this head did the trick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Heads are easy to install and work well. Like the lower gallon per minute capacity ( 2.2) of the heads. This has allowed me to add an additional sprinkler head on zones optimizing coverage.
