As a professional tradesman, I use this meter almost daily. I like the magnets on the back. They allow you to stick the meter to a panelbox or HVAC unit to allow both hands to be free for testing different circuits. It can even check capicators! if you need to read DC microamps or need true RMS, then you need to buy the more expensive meter. For $89.00 this meter has exceded my expectations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill Works well as advertised. Having better performance than my Ideal brand.
Bought primarily for clamp amperage reading but use all other functions as well. Nice to have alligator clip adapters for lead wire probes. Range selection fast and easy. Will be able to give more complete review after all functions get a thorough work out. So far it seems to be a much better value than Fluke or Ideal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by compwhiz2011 Does everything I need for HVACR
I just started taking classes for HVACR this past January 2015 (now march 2015) and before I purchased this meter I asked my instructor who has been in the field for 35 years about it and he said it has everything Ill ever need in a clamp meter and more so I purchased it and showed it to him and he likes it more than his fluke!
I use it everyday and NO complaints! Audible continuity and NCV alarms are very loud, magnet in the back holds the meter to the metal surfaces on running air units very well, great backlight and flashlight is actually pretty handy and bright, clamp jaws are great very easy to use right or left handed and the probe holder on the back holds the leads very well and there is also a lead holder on the stationary clamp arm that is quite useful I have used that feature alot to hold the meter and probe stuff with one hand and have the probe in the other hand when a metal surface wasn't around to stick the meter to. Klein really thought well to make this a highly versatile meter!!!. I could have got one that has temperature but I already had a digital thermometer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Sometimes it's worth spending a little more on a tool. Something that measures electricity, used when you're trying to ascertain if a wire is live before you touch it, would be an excellent example of one of those times.
I've found this meter to be solidly reliable in its readings and has plenty of features for anyone this side of a master electrician.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by techmaster Professional use. Does everything I need at a reasonable cost.
My old Amprobe gave up the ghost after40 years. Heartbreaking, but I had to replace it. This was at HD for a very reasonable price and I have used Klein hand tools for 47 years. An exceptional brand and quality of tools. So I decided to try their meters and am quite pleased with the results. I do wish I had gotten one with a backlight, but it is a little late for that. If this meter lasts half as well as some of the hand tools It will be a bargain. I still use my firts set of "Nines" that I got about 47 years ago.

The reading are not accurate, the ohms ready really bad for motor troubleshooting, voltage reading take long time to evaluate the range.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MrTacos Excellent value and capability
First thing is first, this meter is clearly a rebranded UEI meter. Which isn't a bad thing, UEI makes a good meter and their partnership with Klein has given them a good head start on a pretty competitive market.
I"ve been using the CL1000 meter for about 3 months now in the HVAC trade and around the house. I have to admit that I wasn't sure about whether it would be able to hold up to my expectations. (I've used fluke and extech meters in the past)
So far, i've found it is an excellent product that has alot of capability. The size of the meter is perfect, not too large or too small. The screen isn't super crisp but it has large digits and the bar graph is a nice touch. The test lead wires are not long, but that hasn't hindered me at all, the smaller finger guards are excellent and the strain relief on the wires is decent.
I've tried all of the capabilities and compared a number of them to my fluke 324-- the Klein has not let me down. Add in the magnet on the back of the meter and the test probe holder it is built for use in the field and has found a permanent spot in my tool bag.
