Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cabanarick wanted a low elec useage yard light
I just picked the fixture up. I wanted to use even less than 44watts. I bought a 15 W = 90 W LED bulb. Which won't work in the fixture. The fixture has a fluorescent ballast in the fixture. Which is why the bulb is special. The bulb has no ballast in it. After reading the reviews that said the fixture/bulb failed within a short period. I disassembled the fixture, 4 screws under the snap in reflector. When/if the fixture fails. It would take 15 minutes to remove the ballest, connect the electrical line thru the photocell (the hot line) connect the neutral (white) wire directly to the light bulb socket. It will then use any fluorescent bulb, LED bulb or regular light bulb. I have it apart now. I am trying to decide if I should junk out the fixture ballast now & save 27watts of electricity right away. the 44watt bulb = 203 incandescent watts. the LED 15 watts = 90 incandescent watts. The fixture with the photocell is worth $23. I would like to buy the fixture less the bulb for even less money.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by therd3 BAD! Discontenued, can"t get bulbs Lasted 1/2 hour
Wanted to order 3 but they only had 1. So to avoid shipping cost I had it shipped to local Home Depot. Would have been free shipping to home if they had the 3 in stock.
Easy to install and lit up the yard very well for a half an hour and then the bulb died.
Home depot does not carry this bulb and no one else does. Its a propitiatory bulb and the bulb and light has been DISCONNECTED! So when the bulb burns out your out of luck and need to buy a new fixture.
Mine is going back. too bad too! it did a good job for that half hour!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by John Works great. Doesn't work long.
I put this light above my garage door about 2 years ago. When the light went out I expected that I needed a new bulb. I went to Home Depot to buy a bulb, only to find they didn't stock them. I went online and sent away for 2 bulbs since I had to pay shipping anyway. When they arrived, it turned out that the lamp itself had failed. Since I now had lights in stock I got another lamp and and put it on the old mount. I'm not thrilled that the fixture only lasts a couple years, but for $25 what can you expect. If you put this in a place that is easy to get to, it's not bad. Expect to get a new one in a couple of years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nicksq30 So far so good!
The only complaint on this fixture seems to be longevity, and I cannot comment about that yet. It was easy to install and works perfectly so far. Photocell works perfect at dusk, and the light covers a pretty good area. I was concerned as I mounted mine only 8' high, but was very impressed with the coverage.
I'll let you know how it survives its first Maine winter...

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GreatGrandma great and bad
I purchased one 1 Year ago for the Backyard to keep an eye on my Dogs at night. It is still working great.
6 Months after that i purchased 2 more because of the price. One for the side and one in the front of the House. The one one the side started to not turn on some nights. I was going to tell my Son about this, but, it was staying on all the time again. 3 Months ago it quit and is off,it has not been coming back on.
The same has happened to the one in front, it finally went out 1 month ago. My son checked this light and said it was not the thing that makes it go on and off but some kind off dodat that he cant fix.( sorry i cant remember the names he said). I'm going to buy one more because of the price and let everyone know how this one is working out

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Kepdogg Metallic?
I bought this after my HPS yard light stopped working. It had a bad ballast and the replacement part was more expensive than this light.
The name says metallic, but it's actually metallic looking plastic. The light is really bright and worked well for almost two years. Then the photocell (automatic switch mechanism) burned out and I can't find parts. Anyway, for the price I can just buy a whole new light and swap the whole thing out. Not bad, but seems like it should last longer than two years.
