First, it is loud. If you want a very loud, annoying object other than your kids in the house, get this item. It has about the same sound as an outdoor air conditioning unit. Second, the power button stopped working soon after we bought it. It still works, but you have to plug and unplug it. Third, you can never let it get full. Once when we left it along, it kept running, and we came home to a room with a huge puddle on our hardwood floors. It damaged the area around the dehumidifier. Finally, it sometimes switches off when it is not full. You then have to remove the bucket and reinsert it to get it going again. On the positive side, it still basically runs after a few years. You just can't be in the same room when it is running due to how loud it is, and you can't leave it by itself for very long for fear of it damaging the floor.

I was actually looking to purchase a 2nd one for my mom since i was pleased with mine since 2009. Working perfectly. Emptying was tiresome so i hooked a hose to run to subpump. Perfect solution for my finished but musty basement. I would recommend again. I have it set at 35%. Worth it. No complaints or issues. I've gotten more than my monies worth.

Purchased in 6/2013 and although it still runs ok - the control panel is junk. I need to finagle it to get it to turn on/off - not a very good product made by LG. I wish I knew better before my purchase.

We have two of these. We purchased one and decided that our basement was large enough to justify another one so we picked up a second one; however, just shy of one a year, one of them died. We did end up getting it replaced by LG, but it required a lot of time with us dragging the thing over to a "repair facility" (a guy's back yard) to have him determine that it wasn't working. The replacement unit failed within 6 months and was replaced again using the same annoying process. Now, it has been about 18 months and the replacement unit has died. We are going to try another manufacturer. Interestingly, the other one of the two original units that we bought has been happily running without incident for the whole time. Clearly they make a good one once in a while, but we have had 4 different units (the first two plus two replacements) and only 1 of the 4 has served satisfactorily.

We used it about a year and it stopped working. It always senses the bucket is full, even though we were using a hose and not the bucket. I bought a new sensor for it and my husband put it in...Still would not work. Always says 'Bucket Full.' Total waste of money. Now it is just collecting dust in my basement.

Another lesson learned. Read the reviews before buying! I went to Home Depot and bought this unit approx. 2 years ago. This weekend went down to see if it needed emptied and it was bone dry. It has stopped collecting any moisture. What a bust of a product.

Did a good job last year. Stored it over the winter and tried to use it this year and the electronic panel is dead

2,400 sq.ft. split-level home in "muggy" GA. Home HVAC works fine but you have to run a LOT to keep humidity down. Decided to give my home system some help getting rid of the humidity. Bought (2) of these - upper level and lower level of house. Started out doing very nice but quit shortly after 1 st year...now have (2) no longer working just over a year after purchase...both sitting in basement. Won';t make that mistake again...suggest you don't either !!
