Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dataway Posts split at the ends
The posts are sturdy, appear very nice when first installed. But, the ends split open even with good primer and paint. They are produced from laminated wood and there is some problem with the manufacturing as the layers start to de-laminate within two years. I have five of them on the porch that are going to have to be replaced after only five years. I thought my problem was unique, but from these reviews I can tell I'm not the only one.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ralph WORSE PRODUCT I EVER BOUGHT
We bought 10 of these posts to place on our porch. Within three years of placement the posts began to deteriorate. They began to part at the wood joints letting moisture in and then rapidly rotted. I attempted to epoxy them multiple times . Nonetheless the posts continued to delaminate and rot resulting in structural failure of my house and porch. To the credit of Home Depot they are working with us even though these posts theoretically are five years old and the warranty is only for five years.
The manufacturer, however, is refusing to participate in solving the problem. I must indicate that the posts began to rot within three years of placement. Indeed, would any manufacture seriously expect to replace their porch posts every five years! Does anyone in their right mind think a homeowner is going to jack up their porch every five years to replace posts!!
This product is woefully inferior and should not be carried by Home Depot. I'm amazed that they continue to carry this product as other consumers are going to experience the same type of situation. It does not speak well for Home Depot who usually carries wonderful products.
I've constructed several homes and have been building for more than 25 years this is the absolute worst product I have ever purchased.
I am making a you tube video to further show these details

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Art Poor advice and product from Home Depot
Purchased this column 3 years ago based on recommendation of Home Depot sales representative. Had this column professionally installed after applying two coats of high quality exterior, oil based paint. By the end of the first year the base began to split up to the lower sections and continued to peel and split thereafter. It is beyond repair and I now need to replace at added expense. I would not recommend this product and hope to hear back from Home Depot in regard to this review.

They look nice for the first year. They then split at the joints and rapidly rot. I've had 2 of these on my back porch for a few years and now I need to replace them both...waste of money ...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BoaterBob Specifications lie
The product specifications are misleading. While I understand that the nominal size of of a 6 X 6 is actually 5-1/2 X 5-1/2, I would expect a post labeled 6 X 6 to be at least that. In the "specifications" section of this item, it says that the "actual" size is 6" X 6". It isn't! It is ACTUALLY 5-1/4 X 5-1/4. Not standard sized from a 6 x 6 nor as specified. BUYER BE WARE!

I have 4 for my front porch. After only 2yr they are starting to rot. I painted the the insides of both ends and 2 coats on the outside. The wood needs to be pressure treated to standup to the outdoors and these are just not made to be outdoors or maybe they are ment to be replaced every 2yrs. Either way, the manufacture does not stand by their product so don't waist your time and money.

Within two years they began to rot out. I even used protective coatings on them. Nice design but will not last at all.

Just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the store only sells the foam plastic molding end pieces for round columns that they don't even carry. I guess they ordered the wrong ones.
Now if I can just find the molding pieces...
