Will this warp? I just got home and some of the slats are moist to touch. Should I wait to paint them or paint them immediately.

Asked by: Neal
If you are going to nail it together I would wait for it to dry out and build with it. It will warp a little but not like pressure treated!

Customer Reviews

5/8 in. x 5-1/2 in. x 6 ft. Incense Cedar Dog-Ear Fence Picket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. I purchased online and picked up in store for the convenience. I bought 10% more than I needed expecting that some of the boards would not meet my standards. I had to return more than 25% of them and buy more in order to finish the job. The bad ones were either cracked, warped, bent, or moldy. In addition, some of the boards varied in thickness from one side to the other (same board.) Do yourself a favor, if you're building your own fence, buy in store and select them yourself. Even out of those I selected myself, some of them warped or cracked before I had a chance to put them up. I recommend only if you select your own. Nice looking fence for cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cedar for a MODERN exterior wall over concrete blocks This wood really stands out and makes my entire yard more vibrant. I added a cedar stain to bring out the color in the wood and for further protection from the elements. People have stopped just to tell me how much they love the look of the wood. It has made an ugly, gray, concrete block wall look beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and smells nice too! The wood is very sturdy and has wonderful grain. We used it to cover pipes and electrical while finishing our basement. We liked the wood so much we created an accent wall too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cedar Picket Found the pickets to be consistent throughout the bunch I bought. Wood was very green, though I found a small percentage were on the dry side. A few at the store did have cracks or major defects but that percentage was low. Hope it holds up well. I cut them down to size/shape for use in building a planter box so I was a little more specific in my board needs while searching through the stock at my local H.D. store. Sands & shapes easy for those considering use other than fence pickets; FYI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value I would dif recommend these boards, they look real good. I'm not finished with the fence in picture but very happy with how they look

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value I thought they looked a little cheap but once installed they looked real good. I backed them with 3 cedar 2x4 rails and also made a double gate out of them. For cedar in the Northeast, they were readily available, reasonably priced, and even though they were only 5/8" thick, I'd use them again because of their value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doesn't warp like the whitewood and especially the pressure treated Been using red cedar for years and nothing is a s good, even redwood(too expensive).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The quality of the cedar fencing was great not very many knot holes The product was ready on time but they didn't put the fencing on the pallet right so they had to hand put it in the truckbed instead of putting it on with a forklift. Very pleased with service otherwise
