Answer:
Yes. It is stained. I bought these for the backyard fence and gate of a rental property we had. I would say they are ok, entry grade. If I was purchasing for a higher end property I would purchase a grade higher. Worth going to store and viewing if possible.

Answer:
If the boards are installed correctly, (3 rail assembly etc) Home Depot will likely make it right for you.
I would verify that I did everything right on my part, then contact the store.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Buy This was the worst product made after 2 days of install. I would like a refund August 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No Problems Here Went up great and looks good out of 95ft only 2 warped a little and 2 broke ...I say for the price it's great April 1, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I used this to add privacy to my patio The price was right, so I chose this wood to make my patio more private.... and it came out really nice. If the wood is a bit moist when you buy it, expect it to shrink a little. I had to sort though a lot of wood to get boards that were not bent or bowed, and I had to buy a few extra just in case.... and I did end up needing the extra wood to replace boards that ended up warping. However, for the most part, the wood I selected was pretty decent, and for my purposes it didn't have to be perfect. I am going to go over the wood eventually with a wood waterproof/protection so it will last longer. It was a fairly easy project to do, and I am happy with the results. March 29, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad info No where on the product, or on the signs, does it tell you the product is stained. It just says "red". Lowes, indentifies their stained lumber very specifically. I Bought this, then couldn't use it after I realized it was stained. Thanks April 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It warps bad! I did about a 25 foot section. A week later we had a little bit of rain, then some winds. More than half of the fence needs to be redone. July 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 5/8 In x 5-1/2 in. X 6ft Red stain white wood dog ear picket This product is junk! Installers were to use treated cedar, but used this product instead. Looked good first day...three days later big gaps between each board appeared so that no privacy between neighbors and us. Warping was extreme in many of the boards. That was two weeks ago. We are now replacing the portion that shows from the street with redwood. The difference in price was $.50 a board. Why, why would anyone buy this terrible junk when for a little more, you can buy redwood? Definitely do not recommend, in fact, this is a warning NOT to use this for anything. July 11, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy I installed 65 lineal feet of this fencing. The boards appeared to be nice and uniform. Installed on a Friday (as per directions) and the fence looked great. Nice and straight. Came back on the next Monday(3 days) to find at least 60 percent of the boards warped and twisted. Some boards shrunk as much as 2 inches. Fence looks 20 years old. Will never buy this product again. It should be removed from the shelves. I know it was the cheapest of boards, but it should of lasted at least the weekend! Save your money and buy Redwood. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good grade fence Look. These are better pickets then the standand panel you can buy. These are prestained and last 3-4 years before you need to stain again. I have put up thousands of feet of these pickets with little probelms. Of course, you will have some that warp over time with a couple since they are usually fresh from the mill and still contain moisture. They will also shrink after they dry. If you don't put enough screws or nails to fully support the picket, it can cause warping but all pickets will do that. Just don't skimp on the screws. Also, do not leave a gap or much of one, quarter inch or less becasue they will shrink and leave a gap on their own. I'd butt them flush and let nature take its course. But, what do I know, i am just a do it your selfer. Buy in bulk and get a better rate. Happy fencing. May 6, 2013
