Customer Questions & Answers

DO YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOU BRING BACK THE JUG?

If i buy 5 and bring back the jugs, do I get a refund of $7 for each container?
Asked by: jshell
No. Your initial purchase ($14)is buying the jug and water. They will only exchange empty for full ($7). This is not communicated properly at the time of initial purchase. As a contractor and commercial account holder, situations like this are becoming more common. I wonder what I could have gotten at Lowes for that $35 I just wasted on empty water bottles.

Do you get to keep the water bottles even if you stop buying anymore water from Home depot?

Asked by: MH
Yes, no strings attached. The bottle is yours to do with as you wish. Of course the water from Home Depot is from a reputable source.

It makes loading and unloading a lot easier with the handle. Can not include a picture of the product at this time, because it is in hiding as part of a Christmas present to be given to my daughter and son-in-law.

It's simply filtered water yet is priced like spring water. Second, the "deposit" you pay to initially buy the bottle isn't a deposit. You can't get it back. They claim you have purchased the bottle. You can only exchange it. This is not in-line with other retailers and not clearly communicated upon purchase. Big scam!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scam-It's not a deposit, it's a purchase - Scam Mislead by another big box store. You would think I would have learned by now! Forget the bottle at home? No problem just get another one and bring the other in later... Do that and you just spent $7 on a terrarium vessel.. Do it 5 times and you could have went out for a nice meal. Arghhhhh!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal, but don't get the bad reviews? I am sure I will get a thumbs down for this, but this is a good buy. You buy the first (Full) 5 gallon jug, then after it's empty, just bring it back and exchange for a new full one for on $6 every time after . The problem is, people just assume things instead of asking an associate how things work. HD was the only store that I could find that sold these, and they make it easy just to walk in and say here's the old one, now give me a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save Time, Money, and Help the Environment I bought this to use in a bottom load water dispenser. I can't say what brand the water is at other HDs but it's a well known brand at the one I use. The water is high quality and taste great. The process is very easy. You buy the first jug at full price then return the empty jug for a new one at half the price. Even if you buy a 24 pack of bottled water, it still doesn't come close to the savings you get buying a 5 gallon bottle. On top of that the jugs get reused rather than thrown away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great water, easy convenient empty bottle exchange. Personally I think its quite convenient that Home Depot carries these 5 gallon jugs of water. Seeing as I frequent Home Depot at least a couple times a week. When you first purchase the water you will pay a twice the price as you are paying for the jug and the water. After that initial purchase all you do is take the empty jug back to homedepot and you receive a credit for the new jug of water which is only half the price of the initial purchase. Now this may not be the greatest method of exchanging the bottles for those who tend to purchase their water from different sources, but for me. Someone who is always at home depot and only buys the 5 gallon water from here its a great and convenient system of exchange. Also these bottles come with a punch through top which is nice. So no more spills when putting this on top load water coolers, but in order to make use of the punch through top you have to have a newer water cooler that is capable of punching through the top. Otherwise you will have to do it old school and remove the water jug top completely and do the whole routine of tilting a heavy and opened 5 gallon jug of water onto your water cooler.
