Very sturdy compared to the flimsy off-the-shelf vents. Used 2 for intake/exhaust for a portable AC unit - worked great!

I used this vent to attach 5 inch outlet duct from room air conditioner unit. Normally the ac unit vents through an window attachment but I didn't want to leave the window unlocked, and also didn't want to cut a large hole through the wall for a wall mounted ac unit. This vent is working quite well and does not have auto-louvers which could be a problem for the ac outlet air flow.... it does have a wire mesh screen which keeps the bugs out. A little challenging to install and make it work on both sides of the wall, but if you're up to the challenge, then this product will do its part.

Purchased a portable Air conditioner and heater for my shop that requires a 5 inch fresh air vent and a separate 5 inch exhaust vent. These vents were idea. They contain very sturdy screens to keep unwanted guest out and do not have dampers which cannot be used with the ac/heater. I painted to match the trim on my shop. I am very please Home depot had these. This was the only place I found that carried the vents.

Needed two 5 inch diameter vents for portable air conditioner. Intake and exhaust. Can't use if i has flaps, like a dryer vent. This unit has wire screen that looks very sturdy. good gauge galvanized metal. Tube lenght is 9 inches...almost long enough to get thru brick, sheathing, 2x6 framing. Had to fashion sheet metal to extent tube another inch to get thru dry wall and into living space.

Purchased this vent to use with a portable A/C unit so we didn't have to fuss with the window adapter. Works great for this purpose.
