I bought this good-looking stainless steel Presenza range hood at HD for my kitchen reno and it was a bargain. The halogen bulbs that came with it produced perfect task lighting - but were too HOT and drew too much current to leave on all the time. Luckily, these LED bulbs are an exact replacement for the halogens, and they produce the same light without the excess heat and and with far less power. As a bonus, these LEDs will last a long time, so I can leave them on all the time without feeling guilty (and if I wanted to bother turning them off during the day they'd last even longer). As an aside, the Giallo Vitoria granite countertops also came from Home Depot and they are great. I love my new kitchen!!!

This product has a bright future! Verdict still out on longevity! I had two choice in led lights for this purpose. I went with the led that used less watts, but little more costly! It is bright and durable! Would like to see the cost come down!
This led consumed 4.5 watts, while producing 60 watts of brightness!

A lightbulb should be a simple product, and this one delivers. Everything that makes GU10 bulbs good for track lighting is present, and it's dimmable. Do yourself a favor and get the lower current consumption and longer life of an LED with this bulb.

I replaced several of the halogen bulbs in some light fixtures with LEDs. One of the brands I tried was Phillips. Home Deport no longer carries the same model I bought a year ago, but this is the closest equivalent. At $20 a pop and the packaged cost comparisons against halogens showing years of service I though it would be great. A year later the Phillips has burned out. Interesting the current literature says bulb will last 6 years at 3 hours a day. I really doubt they have been on for 18 hours a day for the past year. Some other brands say 27 years at 3 hours a day for similar price. the others are still working so far. Curious to see how long they perform.
