There is a Philips screw and a plastic peg going thru the unit, I do not see how to plug the 6 outlet into the wall than

You can also *just* remove the original faceplate screw and use the included, attached, longer screw to secure *both* the unit and the faceplate to the outlet. I've have done this with four outlets (so far) without any issues. This way, at least for me, the outlet box is still covered and everything fits tight and holds fast.

Warranty seems to be bogus - anyone else read this?

Just purchased this and am reading the Defiant Limited Warranties: "Home Depot warrants to the original consumer that it will, at its sole option, repair or replace any equipment properly connected through this product.....which is damaged by surges or spikes (an "Occurrence") for the lesser or three years.... Then two paragraphs down it goes on to say: THIS SURGE PROTECTOR LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGES: - As a result of an Occurrence WHAT?!?!
Asked by: TJ07921
Apparently, this is a typo or copy/paste error. The units I have purchased have corrected it to read "as the result of an accident."

Lights on Surge Protector

I have 6 of these units -- 5 have one red one green light, the 6th which I just purchased has 2 green lights, and has had 2 green lights since I installed it. Anyone have any idea on what is going on with the lights?
Asked by: Marie
I purchased two units last year and two more Saturday. After noticing the LED colors difference of the two purchased last year (green and red LEDs) and the two purchased Saturday (two green LEDs). I researched and couldn't find what the LED indicators meant on the unit. I called 866-308-3976 and chose option 2. I was told that the product purchased last year is now being manufactured by another company and that the product purchased last year might be defective. I was told to take it back to Home Depot for an exchange or refund. I informed the representative that I no longer had the receipt. The representative called the Home Depot where I purchased the units and spoke with the assistance manager. To get to the point, I exchanged the two units I purchase last year, installed the new units in the same two outlets, and both units have green LEDs.

6-Outlet Wall Mount Surge Protector is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product that does it's job well. This is a very simple item that performs as I would expect. I trust it to protect some electronics and I have no reason to doubt it's abilities. I use this in my garage where I have a TV, Stereo receiver, DVR, and a few misc items plugged in. It provides clean power with no issues. I like that it has a screw to hold the wall mount to the wall. Very important to most of us. They only thing I would change it to have the outlets spread out just a bit further for the larger plugged in items. The addition of a USB port would be nice as well. The same manufacturer does sell a unit for a few dollars more that has USB. Overall, a nice product that I recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product! This is an excellent little wall mount surge protector, it wasn't immediately obvious to me how you were supposed to mount it until I actually took it out of the packaging. You will need a screwdriver to remove the screw in your current outlet's cover plate, so that you can line up the screw built into the surge protector with that and screw it in as you plug it into the outlet. That way it is super secure and won't accidentally be plucked off of the wall when you try to unplug anything from it. I have my television and a couple of other electronics plugged into this one.

I lost three outlets due to how close they are together. I only needed three total so it worked, but just something to be aware of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved Thousands of $$$ of Equipment! I'm a professional photographer currently working on a nationwide project. When I'm on the road all my photos are stored on a 24 terabyte hard disc array I have in my motorhome. I also have laptops, printers, scanners, and more. A recent massive surge destroyed one of these surge protectors. Even though the protector was hit so hard that it fried the thing into a stinky piece of burnt electrical slag, all of my expensive computer and camera equipment was saved! My microwave was not on a surge protector and it died from the power surge. Suffice it to say I'm very pleased with this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 6 OUTLET WALL MOUNT SURGE PROTECTOR (MODEL YLCT-30) The normal condition tor the 6 outlet surge protector (Model YLCT-30) is for the protected LED to be red when lit and for the grounded LED to be green when lit. When the surge protector takes a voltage spike and the red LED goes out it becomes a regular power strip with no voltage spike suppression. The packaging needs to be clarified in noting such. The unit itself works very well. In regards to mounting the unit, remove the outlet faceplate screw leaving the faceplate cover in place, and then install the surge protector by turning the Phillips screw of the unit into the faceplate. If the outlet was not installed properly originally there may be some looseness or movement of the unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad design I bought this looking for a simple outlet multiplier that would just plug in. Turns out it comes with a screw that you're supposed to attach to the outlet by removing the faceplate. Well my house's outlets don't have a center screw whole in them! And the screw doesn't come out so I can't use this product! Does not come with instructions either. From what I'm reading on the US Home Depot site this thing doesn't even sit steady and tight even if you do screw it on. Very frustrating since I probably can't return this because I threw out the receipt thinking it was a no brainer product to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product There's a wiring problem in my house at the moment and another surge protector I have burned today and ruined a device i had plugged up to it but this one is still working great and everything plugged into it is still good. It's a good price, easy to connect. I like that it screws into the outlet because not only does it stay connected but I'm pretty sure that the screw is the grounding point. I also like the easy to read lights to let you know its still working.
