I was replacing two controllers that looks like they were installed when the house was built in the early 90's. I chose the Orbit because it looked like it was built well, and was made to be installed outdoors. The installation was easy. The programming is straight forward, and can be done without a manual. Now, if the pair of them lasts for the next 10 to 20 years, well, that will be good.

I had to return this. It was the wrong size. The wiring was too thick.

Easy to install. Switched from older rain bird that wasn't working any longer. Installed in about 20 minutes. Easy to program. Has a couple of weird little bugs that I'm trying to figure out though. Like if I'm on program A normally, and I select a manual watering, when the manual cycle is done I end up on the B program somehow? So you have to watch for that. Also, there have been times when it will cycle through all of the zones in the A program for the specified times, and when it's supposed to be done, it starts all over again? Not every time though. Still somehow it's better than what I replaced. And I'd still recommend it for $50.

in my business I like to keep it simple for my customers. I like the timer cause it is easy to program and that is a plus in my book. I want my customers to know that they are capable of changing something on the program on their own without having to always call me out to change it for them.

If you plan on running all 6 stations independently, this is not the timer for you. Even though it says 6 stations, you can only run 3 of them independently through the Programs A, B, and C. I had 6 stations to run independently and only learned of the timer's limitations after trying to program it. It is quite misleading on its capabilities. I quickly returned it and bought a RainBird that is a true 6 station controller. Not to mention MUCH easier to program. Other than that, the timer does do it's job and keeps time. Either way, I won't be buying an Orbit timer again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ThePlumber I think it had brain damage
No matter what we did it ran whatever it wanted whenever it wanted. We had one zone set for 12:00am and it would come on at 3:00pm. We replaced it with a Rainbird along with the Orbit sprinklers that broke and the Orbit solenoids that leaked. I will never buy another Obit product, spend a little more for something that works.
