Clogged toilet how do I use this product?

Asked by: Anonymous
It's easy! You insert the bulb end into the toilet, trying to get as much of the auger into the toilet drain. Then, as you crank the knob you also push down on it, feeding the "snake" further into the drain. Twist the knob a few more times while it is still fully inserted. As you pull it out, keep twisting the knob. Remove the auger and the toilet should flush properly.

How does this toilet auger differ from other augers?

Why does the description indicate it's for toilets? How is it different from ones that can be used in sinks, showers, tubs, etc? Thank you!

This auger has a protective sleeve over it so that it won't scratch the porcelain while you are clearing the toilet.

how do i release a six foot auger when i push the button nothing happen?

Asked by: Anonymous
You need to push the auger in the toilet after you push the button. Just slide the auger down the toilet and start turning the handle and you're done. Just clean off the bulb with a hose and put away. The easiest thing I have ever used for a toilet, after the plunger was unsuccessful.

6 ft. Toilet Auger with Bulb Head is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 273.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The auger was very effective at clearing the blockage. Instructions/suggestions for sanitary cleaning should be provided. PRO: The auger was very effective at clearing the blockage. Very easy to use. CON: Effective method to "flush" the equipment with clean water to remove debris internal to tubes is not provided. RECOMMENDATION: Instructions/suggestions for sanitary cleaning of the auger for the infrequent use by homeowner would be beneficial. Recommend modification to upper guide tube to permit a cleaning "purge hole" in order to flush tubes and auger out the bulb end. Caution when install and removing from toilet avoid contact of the bulb end with the toilet porcelain as it will leave a "pencil" mark on the porcelain under the water line which is hard to remove.

I own a 3 ft. auger (actually about 32 useful inches) and it just isn't long enough for our toilet. The additional length of the Ridgid 6 ft. auger did the job, although I think I may have used around 4 ft., having the additional length assures that it will clean the trap and move the clog beyond the trap for a thorough cleaning. The product itself is sturdy and will last many years. The plastic portion protects the toilet from scratches. The bulb is a good size and the snake is thicker than my previous auger. Simply put, the Ridgid Auger does a better job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cleared badly blocked toilet Our teenage son badly blocked his toilet. I tried plunging, soap, hot water for over 12 hours-nothing worked. I fact it seemed to get worse. I read the reviews online and went directly to get this. I figured I would get the 6 foot versus 3 foot since I had no idea how far down the blockage went. I'm glad I did! After one try with the first 3 feet I could tell I had hit something. But I did need the additional 3 feet to clear out the entire o'cloc 3 feet I could tell I had hit something. But I did need the additional 3 feet to clear out the entire clog. It was an investment for us, but I will guess it will last a very long time and pay for itself versus buying chemicals or hiring a plumber. This is something every house should have.

I was almost on the verge of calling a plumber, and POOF my $300 dollars in my checking account would be gone for his fee's.. I called a friend to help me, and he came over with this item. I watch how easy it was for him to use, and it worked perfectly..toilet problem was solved. I went online, found the very same item in stock, and purchased this wonderful product. BUY THE SIX FOOT MODEL..... can't believe I thought about the 3 footer... 3' didn't clear so I pushed the button, extended to 6', cranked it down and whoosh it was done.... Flush the toilet a couple of times to 'self clean" the tool as you bring it out. Hang it up till you need it again! Went straight to the phone, called a friend with rentals and told him to put one of these in his arsenal....

Modern low flow toilets and old cast iron drain pipe make clogs a semi-annual event in my life. Nice soft toilet paper & flushable wipes, etc.. speed up the clogging process. Plungers did not work and the 3 foot auger could not reach the tee where toilet paper hangs up. 6 feet is made by and extension bar in the handle. EZ to extend to 6 feet but retracting back to 3 feet requires some finesse (not for the squeamish). Good tool to have at home if you get regular/frequent toilet clogs. Pays for itself in 2-3 uses.
