Is this B-vent?

Asked by: mac
I believe that B-vent is the double wall, insulated exhaust pipe now required for gas appliances like furnace and hot water heater combustion exhaust, and this it not that. This is single wall and uninsulated. This can not be run through walls or floors for hot exhaust. This should only be used for warm air distribution or cold air intake vents.

Foil tape does not stick to it. I attempted to degrease it without much luck; too much oil stays in the joints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A creative angle I purchased an electric false wood burning stove Home Depot for my man cave/workshop. I was looking at it and thought to myself, "How could I liven it up some"? So I went to the air duct aisle at Home Depot and bought some air duct supplies so that I could make a ventilation duct coming off of the stove to my ceiling . I really needed the 90°/ multi-angle parts because I had to angle it towards the ceiling in a manner only these the movable 90° parts would do the job. I spray painted it black and it really looks awesome. So, in my situation the 6" adjustable 90° elbows worked perfect for me and I can't see how they wouldn't in any other situation.

There is not much one can say about an elbow, except that at some stores, the swivel joints bind or are too tight, or are too loose and leak. The batch I bought at Home Depots all seemed just right. Only one did I have to spray a little WD-40 on in order to rotate it to the angle I needed.

Product was oily so seam sealing tape wouldn't stick even after cleaning with acetone. It's galvanized so why does it need oil? Also the metal gauge is rather thin and the joint come apart rather easily if your not very careful.
