Can the roof jack vent be used as the termination of gas furnace vent pipe instead of extending the Type-B gas vent pipe up through a typical flashing and topping it off with a typical gas vent pipe cover? I have been told that using a roof jack vent for a gas appliance vent termination is not allowed. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
The roof jack cap cannot be used for gas exhaust applications. The Class B vents are required. They must have positive venting capabilities and a no clog design. The roof jack cap does not meet this standard. Look for our Versa Cap series at Home Depot. They are Class B rated. Please call MasterFlow Technical Services at 800-211-9612 with any additional questions or concerns for the use of this product.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Roof Jack for Range Hood Reasonably priced and what we needed, although I had to order it online as this size is not stocked. Figured out how to cut/install on metal propanel roofing by watching YouTube videos. It works! We also screened the roof jack to keep birds from nesting in it and hornets from flying down it to set up house. A little bit of forethought goes a long way... November 3, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by easy install Installation was easy and product is the only one I could find that had any height to it. What there is of it is constructed well. The big problem for pest prone areas, which is everywhere almost, is there is no screen. January 4, 2012
