Increaser or reducer???

Does the 6 inch end fit INSIDE a metal duct or does it fit around the outside of the metal duct? I want to use with a dryer vent, so it has to fit inside to reduce lint build-up.
Asked by: Kevin
This is a metal pipe reducer that is used to go from a 6 inch pipe to a 4 inch pipe. The 6 inch is on the outside of the 6 inch pipe. Normally duct work goes from the larger pipe to the smaller pipe.

Can this be used to connect a 4 inch duct to a 6 inch connector in a chimney style range hood

Asked by: Sharon
Yes you can use this reducer and you may need a 4 inch and / or a 6 inch splice for a slip-on connection at both ends.Splices are used when the ducts are the same diameter or both ends are female.
