Does the 6 inch end fit INSIDE a metal duct or does it fit around the outside of the metal duct? I want to use with a dryer vent, so it has to fit inside to reduce lint build-up.

Answer:
This is a metal pipe reducer that is used to go from a 6 inch pipe to a 4 inch pipe. The 6 inch is on the outside of the 6 inch pipe. Normally duct work goes from the larger pipe to the smaller pipe.

Answer:
In my case the six inch side went inside a flexible duct of the range fumes exhaust. So not sure about a metal duct. You may check the diameter of the dryer vent in your home and then go to ths store to check it physically.Nevertheless, whether it fits inside or outside the metal duct you will need to use the duct metallic tape to seal the joint.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Delivered Quickly I ordered these duct reducers to go with my new bathroom fans, they were delivered faster then the fans and were properly box so they did not get bent or otherwise damage. Two thumbs up! June 2, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bait & switch The description and photo are very specific, "Master FlowMaster Flow 6 in. to 4 in. Round Reducer or Increaser", which is what I wanted and was willing to wait for since I had ordered another that would be shipped to the store. But since they had some lower quality (and longer, which was an issue for me) item in the store, it was substituted. September 16, 2014
