Product Overview

The Master Flow 6 in. x 25 ft. Insulated Flexible Duct R6 Silver Jacket is used in standard Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and some venting applications. The duct has R6 insulation which contains 33% more insulation than the standard R4.2 product. This additional insulation provides greater thermal efficiency to save energy. The product is also covered in a heavy duty, silver jacket for durability. The duct is ETL listed, meeting the UL181 standard.

  • R6 fiberglass insulation for greater insulating power
  • Flexible duct is convenient for use in multiple applications including heating and A/C systems and some venting
  • Oversized core to connect quickly and easily to standard sheet metal fitting
  • Galvanized core wire for greater corrosion resistance vs. non-galvanized wire
  • Always install per instructions and seal using approved mastic or sealant (or approved tape)

Answer:
Yes, ...well kinda.
if your doing new work and you have this product laying around (like i had) you can cut the piece to length, then carefully pull out the inner plastic duct, and slid the insulation over ridged ductwork. obviously not what its made for but works.

Keep in mind this duct has a wire form running through this to keep its form, so you would have to basically cut this product apart to remove the inner duct and just reusing the outer insulation. Answer:
Yes but you must get a pipe reducer to connect them together with. Using zip ties and mastic will make the job put together better and will stay together better without leakiage ! You will also need mesh strapping to hang the pipe up with.

Answer:
It sounds like from your question you are looking to replace these two runs of ducting. If you are looking to replace 7" ducting with this then you aren't going to get as good of air flow through this due to the reduced size and the uneven internal surface of this product. I would look to go larger (8" or possibly even 10" if replacing rigid) rather than smaller.

Answer:
That is what I bought and used this for. I would just make sure to run your ventilation fan for a little while after the shower or whatever is causing the vapor to dry out any condensation that may have formed on the inside of the ducting.

Answer:
You should get the correct ducting for your stove top to avoid fire hazards and code violations. the home depot floor reps or pro desk manager should be able to help you. Also, you may save some money getting the correct stove ducting as HVAC ducting is expensive

Answer:
Thank you for contacting MasterFlow ... Not recommended for use in this application. In case of a fire, the flexible duct could be a source of combustibility. A solid metal pipe is the product for this application. Check with your local building codes before any additions or modifications to your dwelling. Please call Technical Services at 800-211-9612 with any additional questions.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 42 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works very well and easy to install The ducting was very easy to install and had a minimum of internal corrugation after being fully elongated once. Nice snug fit over over duct boots and collars. Quality construction. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great flexible duct I needed a 6" flexible duct for a new bathroom vent I installed. I only needed about 3 feet, but had to buy 25 feet. It worked great. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well made product - easy to use Well made with heavy duty jacket. I would buy again. June 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flexible Duct R6 Silver Jacket Good product and easy to cut (scissors and wire cutters). I took the advice from a previous customer and took the whole box down in to the crawl space before opening. Glad I did. May 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NOT 25 FEET as described. Good stuff. Durable and does the job. Unfortunately, I needed 24'8" of this product. I figured 25' would have been sufficient. I came up almost 12 inches short. Heads up before you order. March 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what I needed! I decided to tackle the replacement of my entire duct system as the quote from the pro's was in excess of $3000, and going up to $4800 after April 1st because of the heat in FL. All of the bedrooms were fed with 6" duct, so this was my product. It was very durable, both the inner tube and outer cover, and able to withstand some tugging without ripping or tearing, yet easy to cut with a box cutter for the initial cut, household scissors, and a wire snip to cut the wire. I would recommend that you wait to open the box when you are up in the attic if possible as it springs out like the "can of snakes" once you open it. This also allows you to connect one end, but still keep the balance of the duct contained and easier to handle, and it is lightweight enough that it was not too heavy or cumbersome to navigate through the attic. Because I was doing it alone, I needed for it to be durable enough for me to properly stretch it so it works most efficiently, and it held up perfectly. My air flow has been greatly improved with this product, with the inner tube connected with both a nylon zip tie, taped well with foil tape, with added spray adhesive to ensure it stuck, and then the insulation pulled up tight, and same process with the outer layer. I just finished this project, so time will be the test, but I anticipate it will hold up as the quality seems to be good. The price was great and I was able to get this project done for a fraction of the cost of paying the pro's, providing my own sweat and blood! April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to work with. I am 63 years old. I was able to work with this product an install it in a crawl space that I had only 3 feet height at the most ! I used the materials for installation that I bought at Home Depot to go with the flexable duct work . I redid all my duct work for my house !t took me longer the most young people would of taken but in the end my heating system works great !! I found everything I needed to do the job right at Home Depot ! By the way I am a women and following instructions found on google I saved myself a lot of money ! Women can do a lot themself using Home Depot & Google to save money. December 22, 2015
